Raptors sub talking about involving us in a trade for Trae young. This sub was talking about trading for Kristaps and Zaccharie a few days ago anyways. How do e feel about this?

  4. I think the Hawks very obviously say no. The Pelicans pick is like a top 5 pick in a very stacked draft. It’s an untouchable asset unless a superstar is involved. And AD is just not that anymore.

    I’m sure Mavs wanted Pelicans pick / Risacher and Hawks wanted to trade Trae… then deal fell apart.

  7. 2027 draft doesn’t seem too strong – unless we want a Miikka Muurinen type of player. if we get lucky & get a top-3 in 2027 Bruce Branch would be great. not sure how Cameron Williams would fit with our front court & I’d be nervous if Tyran Stokes doesn’t actually develop his jumper. Baba Oladotun I think is reclassifying & will be available – could be a KD-type.

  8. We’re absolutely involved because the Hawks aren’t trading Trae and potentially attaching a pick just for CJ. This is the first domino for AD to the Hawks.

    Stein and TMac have been very clear that the Hawks aren’t a huge spending team and Young has been the real issue. They can’t afford both guys.

    extra frp or dump ALL bad contracts to hawks (klay, caleb, hardy, dlo)

    trae + tingus + risacher + 2 FRP (hawks pick this year and whatever year dont care)

    sit kyrie, who cares about trae extension demands, trade kyrie for jabari smith + doe next season, let trae expired (he did his job as filler), now you enter 2027 offseason with big cap space i believe? throw grenade contract for anthony black or 1 of thompson twins for example

    just stack young good players, like

    black – peterson/flemings – flagg – jabari – lively with guy like christie – risacher – pj – gaff are not bad in 2027

    edit : i add naji too if it means extra pick or swap or make sure deals goes through, in the end he’s due extension next year same year like max and lively, and mavs has to choose, so better cash in rather than give him 20m AAV

  18. Seems like the Wizards ( idk why ) have become the “leading” candidate to land Trae. Been playing around with a Mavs/Wizards/Hawks 3 team trade. Can’t really put anything together that would be good for each team.

  19. not a bad trade. offloading Quickley for Trae is an interesting idea that could have some merit.

    Mavs would probably take the Cavs pick this year over a 2029 1st. looking like a mid 1st at this point in a stacked draft.
