[BTRowland] UPDATE: Stein has edited the language on the initial report. Now reads… “it remains to be seen whether the Hawks would also have to send the Wizards draft capital as a measure to convince them to absorb Young’s contract or if Washington would be making a direct play for Young”

  1. Is Trae’s contract such a negative asset that you even need to give up a draft pick to send him away? Besides, he’s only played 10 games this season, in a team built around him. Why are we so in a rush?

  2. Don’t mind me I’ll be disassociating in a fever dream where Darryn Peterson is 2027 ROY in a Hawks uniform until February 6th

  3. Trae is on the Mount Rushmore of Hawks in my opinion. If this really is all about getting AD then it will be as bad as Wilkins for Manning. Unless AD suddenly isn’t made of glass. This makes no sense. I am all for moves that make us better, but I have serious doubts about this. And we have to give up picks?

  4. Holy shit don’t give up assets to make him leave. wtf r u thinking. Just let him walk later for free.

  5. Shit at this point, call the rockets and don’t hang up until something is worked out amicably for the Hawks.

Mark my words tho, once Young is gone, that whole narrative about “locker cancer, coach killer, not a good teammate etc will change. some of y’all don’t understand the Atlanta sports tax, yet

  6. No way Onsi is that stupid, even if Trae has no market value anymore you don’t send assets to get him off when he’s going to be an expiring next year. This better not be a play for AD…

  7. If we trade Trae and give up assets to do it then go spend more premium assets on AD im officially taking an extended break from basketball.

  8. We better not send them a pick. Please do not send a pick. Rather let him walk before giving up a good pick.

  9. Giving up any draft assets to get rid of Trae Young right now would be a truly unbelievable move.
