Incredible performance from him and friendly reminder that he’ll still be eligible for next year’s tournament, possibly following Bedard and Moore as recent back-to-back Gold winners?! Hopefully he’s cemented into the Hawks’ lineup by this time next year but we’ll see haha

– Top prospect for the 2026 draft Ivar Stenberg was awesome this tournament, particularly in in the semi-final and Gold medal games. Total dog. If the Hawks can’f figure out how to climb back up the standings this season, Ivar should be firmly in their sights to draft.
– NestraÅ¡il takes home Silver and an assist on Czechia’s 1st goal late in the Gold medal game. He had a great tournament overall, especially for an 18-year-old!
– This is the 6th year in a row that a Hawks prospect/current player has won Gold at the WJC, which includes: 2021 (Slaggert, Knight), 2022 (Bedard, Del Mastro), 2023 (Bedard, Del Mastro, Korchinski, Allan), 2024 (Nazar, Moore, Rinzel, Hayes), and 2025 (Moore).
I cannot wait for this kid to come to the big league.
It will be really nice if the draft pick falls such that we can grab Stenberg. I didn’t get to watch the whole tourney, but he looked great tonight.
Galvas from CZE will be signed by someone very soon
Nazar led the US to the WC, Frondel took Sweden to the WJC. Looks like we should all get ready for Finland to win the Olympics.

Since when is linespersons a word?
This is Sweden’s first Gold since 2012 and only the third in WJC history, dating back to 1974.
Frondell was named [Player of the Game](https://xcancel.com/OviClapBomb/status/2004655745900642623) in two games leading up to this win, was named one of [Team Sweden’s top three players by their coaching staff](https://xcancel.com/chrismpeters/status/2007976569688703170), named [one of the tournament All-Stars by the media](https://xcancel.com/chrismpeters/status/2008388119154852100), as well as [Best Forward per the IIHF Directorate awards](https://xcancel.com/scottcwheeler/status/2008387930004259113).
