the hawks are able to add Anthony Davis without having to send out the Nola pick, the hawks are able to land trae young without giving up their cornerstone Sarr.

The mavericks on the other hand don't really land a guaranteed star but do reset their timeline to cooper's. They land 3 young players, the wizards 2026 pick and the blazers 2029 FRP while also getting off of Martin's contract.

  1. no way Washington give up Bilal and Bub 😂 they have the perfect timeline to reset with two big expiring in CJ and Khris, they could move for Trae in the summer for a way cheaper price if so.

  2. Washington has no motivation to go after Trae at this point. they wanna draft high again, Trae proofed again and again and again that he is not able to change his style of play while being the largest (or physically speaking smallest) problem on defense for your team, so why would they through in their assets (and a lot of them at that) for a player like him, when they have so many players, who need as many touches as possible to develop?
Not even mentioning that he is on an expiring contract with an player option, which includes a lot of uncertainty since Trae probably sees himself as a Max Player.

  3. No way Washington trading the 2026 pick which is owed to new York if not in the top 8 (which I’m pretty sure means they can’t trade it)

  4. In Addition to all that: If Washington wants Trae (and vice versa), they can just shadow negotiate with him now for the upcoming offseason. With Middleton and CJ expiring they have a gazzillion Dollars in Capspace. they have 0 reasons to onload assets for him now.
