Since it’s hard to get stars to sign with the Grizzlies from free agency, a large contract isn’t as bad. The only stars the Grizzlies can reliably sign are their players; it’s not like the money necessarily had a better place to go.
Either the Grizzlies draft their stars which means cheap contracts for the coming years for their best players, or the Grizzlies try and trade for a star which they would have to match salary for. Having someone making a lot of money makes matching salary a lot easier.
I still think that JJJ has a ton of value as long as he’s a 3rd or 4th best player on the court. People will be mad at that but it’s better than the other guy.
If Santi Aldama gets more rebounds than you, we’re going to have a problem

Ja and Jaren haven’t developed Clarke is never healthy.
Woah woah woah, don’t say anything about the guys that we’re paying to be top talents being outperformed by Sandro Mamukelashvili. We’re completely fine and we don’t need to look at making any changes to how we’re operating.
If JJJ got more rebounds like Santi, but also defended like Santi, would this be “better” in some people’s eyes?
Ja era should at least be considered being blown up by the FO. It pains me to say it but he is done playing productive basketball. Jaren is still good but he will always be Robin at best.
I’ll take watching a tanking team over the cycle of mild hope and crushing reality we currently have been facing since 2021-22

Any analysis of this team that doesn’t start with “this team is playing without a serviceable center right now” is useless.
We’ve known Jaren has to have a real 5 in order to take advantage of his talents. None of this is new information. Until Edey gets back he’s going to struggle and so is Ja and so will everyone else.
This team does not have a serviceable center.

The day the grizz trade JJJ is the day they will become contenders. It’s so obvious he is trash lol
we’re the only team in the NBA where our two “stars” aren’t the most exciting parts of the team.
No he won’t, he’ll be making under 49mill and it’ll be just 29% of the cap. The problem with you guys is that you’re all so monumentally stupid that any legitimate criticism of Jaren from posts like this should be immediately thrown out

What are the chances both our max contract players are having consistent games where they don’t do shit and then have some break out monster shit every now and then.
