Indianapolis Colts – Carlie vaguely and partially explains retention of Ballard & Steichen!

Carlie Irsay-Gordon demands urgency, but fails to tell us what exactly that means.
Chris Ballard and Shane Steichen are back, and Carlie failed to tell fans why.
THAT is a problem.

  1. Big mistake. Huge contract decisions with big money implications happening in the next 12 months. Now was a good time to nuke it.

  2. You can't blame Chris Ballard for key injuries and losses on the field.
You CAN blame him for idiotically squandering two firsts and a functional wideout for Ahmad "Stringbean" Gardner.

  3. They enabled their father instead of cutting him off and now they are applying the same behavior to managing their inheritance. I know it's a harsh statement but it's absolutely true. I heard the Saudis want to buy the team and Indy would likely be better off if they did. Not sorry.

  4. The big 3 or whatever theyre called lost a lot of respect in my book…
Wouldve earned a lot of trust from the fans if they wouldve made the hard decision like i know Jim wouldve.
Really dropped the ball… just delaying the inevitable
My thought is that they signed off on ballard doing the Sauce trade with the caveat that he wouldnt be fired if it turned sour…

  5. I think she wants to see if the first half of the season or the second half of the season was the fluke. With Daniel Jones at the helm I mean.

  6. Carly kept saying that everyone deals with injuries and basically said that is not an excuse for anything. Carly kept saying that winning is injernt.
Don't let her soft spokenest fool you. She is saying that time is up and losing isn't going to be tolerated and I have a feeling she is going to have a lot of say about the roster. Churchill said speak softly and carry a big stick. Time will tell and we need just to see what she does this off season.

  7. same crap every year i am no longer pulling for the colts next year will not be different with ballard in control just stupid not in for year number 10 look at this clowns record

  8. She came across as a very gullible woman. This whole time, I was under the impression that she could take charge and lead this organization. However, after this presser, I have a bad feeling that my assumptions were dead wrong. The feel-good LEO bullshit has got to STOP!

  9. I feel like the issue may be, who would want to come here to take over that'd be better than what we have? Ballard may have set himself up nicely over the next couple years when he gave up 2 1st round picks. No one of note will want to come here to fail with what he's left. So I guess Ms. Irsay may be thinking … it's the devil you know.

  10. Hey Kent you made some valid points. Question: when are Ballard and Steichen’s contract’s up?

And, isn’t sport significantly different than business? Perhaps not. I don’t have either experience. But frankly with the injuries that happened this year, what part does that play?
