And the Texans, and the Chiefs, and the Jags and the Texans again
The defense needs to be addressed because even if we made the playoffs, it wouldn’t have mattered because the defense was the issue in the first place.
It’s better to lose and figure out what needs fixing than win and pretend nothing is wrong. Context matters in our case at least.
Yep, they beat 2 of the many playoff teams they played. I’m not sure this narrative will fade. If the Colts don’t like it then beat good teams more.
Colts were 2-8 against teams .500 or better.
Doesnt matter how you dress it up, a turd is still a turd.
Woulda coulda shoulda. Doesn’t matter at this point
AD makes those 2 plays and he is still a Colt and Pittman is in New York instead.
When Mitchell was sulking away from the huddle on the field after he fumbled and throwing a tantrum the coaches should have benched him for the remainder of the game, they didn’t, that’s on them that he got the penalty because he had no business being on the field the way he was acting.
If we’d had a backup that was good enough that we felt OK sitting jones when he started playing injured, we’d be in the playoffs right now.
Add KC to that list if you eliminate the last drive of both teams and the play call idiocies surrounding them. “If” is a big word though
Almost went 14-3 but didn’t.
And still didn’t make the playoffs. Ain’t that something
But they DID mainly beat bad teams. What kind of bunk narrative is this lol? They also lost to the 8 other playoff teams on their schedule. Good teams are hard to beat so not saying they need to be undefeated, but they went 2-8.
*would’ve
Not “would of”
Hang the fucking banner lmfaoooo
In other words the Colts can hang with good teams but lose most of the time.
I think the fact that they lost close games is the biggest problems. In the Broncos game, the offense settled for a 60-yard FG and missed. In the Seahawks game, they again settled for a long FG and made it. There were multiple games where the team had a lead at some point in the game. There were some where they failed to hold an offense from scoring. There were some where they failed to score on a final drive.
Any bad team can beat a good team. The Raiders beat the Patriots in Week 1, then they went in completely different directions. The real question now for the Colts is figuring out how to finish close games. The team is 3-6 in close games this season. I think the Broncos finished like 11-2 in close games. One missed the playoffs, and the other is the top-seed in the AFC. The team was in a lot of their losses this season, so how can they actually win? Don’t give me the consolation prize of beating the Chargers and almost beating the Seahawks.
Here’s the thing that’s really sad to think about. Andrew Luck dragged god awful shitty rosters to 12-4 records basically by himself, can you imagine this roster with a healthy Andrew Luck. It’s best not to dwell on lol
Ah yes, the hypothetical wins. We’re sounding like an SEC team now. Also, we would’ve lost to Denver had they not tried to block a 60-yd FG.
Lost all the games that mattered. LOL
If only there weren’t 2 other phases to the game…
The remedial colts media is hilarious to me. Just a bunch of pie in the sky scenarios. Bottom line is the colts were 8-9. It’s not much deeper than that
Ok but come on one of you has to admit the broncos game was BS right? Leverage or whatever the fukk?
Based on defensive EPA, the Colts averaged 23.1 ppg against teams that were top 10 in defensive epa.
If you remove the Week 18 HOU game where they were playing HOU’s backups (which you should), their ppg drops to 19.3
They went 2-6 in these games as well.
The assertion that they could only beat bad teams is more true than not.
Only beat Denver thanks to a shitty flag
Colts also beat an undefeated chiefs a few years back….the team still sucked that year
