So every time you complete a fake punt automatically leave the punt team in and cause this confusion to get an extra 5 yards after.
if after completing the fake punt, there was a huddled, then it should not be confusing. If it was no huddle then I get why it would be so unusual…But if I was a coach and a team wanted to line up in punt formation on a first down, and I still had my punt defense set up already then I wouldnt sub anyone! If anything if I had timeouts I would just burn on just to make this whole situation reset…
