Sherwood rumors are on Adderall right now. One moment he is about to traded for 1st+, then he is not getting much offers. Later he is getting contract offers from Alvin, then again he is back on the market and just right now Canucks made a “reasonable offer”. Get me off Mr. Sherwood’s wild ride.

I totally get wanting to jump to the worst conclusions based on this franchises history, but the Sherwood extension rumours could mean any number of things:
1. Dhaliwal is simply an idiot (this is well known)
2. Canucks management has leaked this to expedite the trade process by forcing other organizations to feel a sense of urgency
3. Dhaliwal is dumb, but not super dumb because he knows click-baity shit will drive engagement through the roof
4. Garland is miserable after Hughes left and has said he’d be happy with a trade. The Canucks can fetch a far greater return for Garland with NMC locked in for 6 years than UFA Sherwood, and lock in Sherwood for less money to fill the “checking winger that can score” role. This could net us a higher 1st round pick + a better prospect than a Sherwood because teams near the middle are less adverse to spending on a player with term than a rental while simultaneously saving us $1m+ in cap space.
5. Dhaliwal is a moron.
I’d not be shocked to see either Sherwood traded or Sherwood extended and Garland traded before the Olympic break.
If Sherwood gets extended and neither are moved by the trade deadline, feel free to tag me and call me out and I will eat three servings of crow and take my public lashing, Cersei Lannister style.
