Oh thank god I don’t have to gas light myself that Morton can work with a good OL
Mistakes were made. I believe they overcorrected with a “safe” choice that was less likely to be poached in response to losing both coordinators. I’d prefer they go with the promising upstart, with the understanding that poaching means it was ultimately a successful hire.
He was in fact NOT engineered for Detroit Lions
Damn, MCDC wasn’t joking yesterday when he said he’d immediately reviewing the coaching staff.
At least we’re a premier destination these days for coaching talent. Should basically have our pick of OCs.

Not unexpected, amazed it didn’t happen sooner
Always was a safe choice due to proximity. Got full faith in DC and Holmes to figure this out
Looks like there’s someone Campbell coached with in New Orleans, and there’s Frayley.
The big question is who DC hires. He’s 1 for 3 on OCs, and the two failures were Dan’s drinking buddies. Does he finally go outside his friend group to find the best candidate or does he hire another buddy?
“I am proud of what I done” good for you Johnny, good for you.
Remember that time that Morton forgot all about Jamo for the first part of the season. That was cool.
Morton performed exactly as advertised. He’s never been a successful OC. Bringing him in to be OC is a blemish on MCDC’s report card.
Even though he was ahh at play calling, his reaction to Dan taking over Playcalling made me respect him as a person.
Sad to see that it couldnt work out with him, but also happy that we can get someone new now
Least surprising move. Let’s hope whoever we get will turn out to be great.
I still don’t understand how he was sought after by so many teams, only to turn in that kind of effort.
He never seemed to take any accountability or make any adjustments, be it in playcalling or in his demeanor.
It seemed like an odd hire from the beginning and it was pretty clear from Week 1 that it wasn’t a good fit.
I don’t usually hope for people’s downfalls but he really had to go. Hope he can land on his feet somewhere but he didn’t do much good for us.
I hope we can get a real football nerd who can scheme the shit out of games and make good play calls.
I don’t like anyone losing their job, but dude had to go.

Hire a dude without a belly. That way you know they are hungry and aggressive.
Nobody saw this coming
What took so long?
He was fired two months ago
Now do Shep
Guy came here with the intent to do a good job. I haven’t seen any reports of lack of effort. He did his best, he failed.
Let’s focus on moving forward and not kicking a guy while’s he’s down.
Remember everyone, don’t be a dick to him personally. Unsuccessful coach does not equal he or his family deserving harassment in real life or on social media.
I also am happy to be rid of him *as an offensive coordinator*, but I’m sure he’s a decent enough guy *as a person*.

Fingers crossed for a solid external hire.

BYE 👋

Get us an OC that can use both Monty and Gibbs 😩
What did he even do after Dan took over play calling
THANK GOD I was worried he was over thinking the shit and WASNT going to fire. I only hope he has a plan in place
He was dead man walking as soon as Campbell took over the play calling
