But I still want a win. FTP forever.

  1. Hell nah, a loss to the Packers will ruin any joy this season ever had. A one and done by the 49ers, sure, I could handle that and would consider this season a success, but not this.

  2. Magical regular season, yes. But one and done to the Packers would leave a lot to be desired.

I’d just like for a season in which the Bears beat the Packers more times than the Packers beat them lol. In most cases, a sweep. Really hoping we can get a sweep of the Packers next season.

The only way to really catch up to them in the all time series standings is to sweep them. This Saturday is a chance to close the gap by a game. If we always split 1-1, they maintain the same lead they had at the start of that season

  3. It feels like Cubs 2015. You knew it wasn’t time yet but man it still gonna hurt if it ends Saturday

  4. i’d rather go 3-14 than lose to the ftp in the playoffs i think

vikings or lions wtv but ftp

  5. People are never satisfied, I can’t believe people would call the season a bust if we lose to the Packers.

Guess folk get used to good stuff real quick.

  6. This is the most fun i have had watching bears games in a long time. The heart attcks were worth it

  7. My stretch goal for the season was 500. I’m good no matter what happens Saturday.

  8. These people are so dramatic😭. Calling an 11-6 season where the coach and qb looks good a failure if we lose the first playoff is genuinely ridiculous. How quickly people lose perspective is hilarious considering we were scared that we were going to ruin the best prospect our franchise has ever seen not even a year ago.

  9. Look, in no capacity is this season a disappointment. It’s been a revelation

But if I’m going to believe the Ben Johnson era is truly different, I need to see a victory Saturday. You haven’t arrived until you slay the dragon because that’s the one thing I’ve never seen in 30 years of fandom. Our Super Bowl run was their rebuilding year, and then we lost in 2010. This needs to happen for my fucking sanity

  10. The season was fun either way, but to get to this point and lose to the Pack on our field would leave a real bitter taste.
Get the win Saturday and I’m downright ecstatic about everything they did this year.

  11. Fuck that I wanna wiiiiiin haha! For real tho it’s been such a fun season…. But even with all the progress the team has made, success is not guaranteed. They should seize this chance and ball out!

  12. This is the most fun season I can remember. Worst-to-first feels like playing with house money.

  13. How about we get the offense from the SF game and the defense from the CLE game this Saturday and completely embarrass them. In reality I’m not expecting that, but oh how sweet would that be?

  14. I want you all to line up and apologize for your Loveland draft night takes. ALL OF YOU!

  15. It’s going to suck if we lose but the high we will experience if Chicago wins a playoff game against GB this season will be epic.

I think the ceiling of our expectations was sneaking into the playoffs and losing first round. We won the division and took the #2 seed. We’ve been competitive in all of our recent losses and I think we can play competitively against anyone.

  16. The more I think about it, the more I’m shifting into this mindset: this season will feel like a disappointment if they lose this game.

    Here’s why.

This roster was supposed to be good enough to compete going into last season, and that was a huge letdown. Then—pleasant surprise—they actually addressed the team midseason and again in the offseason in a way we hadn’t really seen before. And Caleb—honestly every phase—improved. Even the defense, compared to last year: more takeaways, more chances for the offense to win close games.

So if they lose this one, I’m not saying they can’t keep growing. But I really think Caleb and Ben need at least this win for continued growth. And the defense has to show up like they’re there to play—not let Love walk up and down the field at will.

This team needs to end the lack of trust in their ability to close out other teams—especially against the Puke.

I’m seeing DraftKings still has the Bears as dogs, and I’m thinking back to how they were 6-point favorites entering the Eagles 2018 playoff game (arguably a similar team in terms of exceeding expectations)… and we all know how the Eagles turned out. The fact is: this team lays fucking eggs all the time and expects us fans to treat them like they aren’t the Chicago ducks.

My bar for this game and this team is simple: win this game, or lose in a way where you were never out of it—like you lost to a Wisconsin team by the lake that woke up from their rope-a-dope sleep, kicked into high gear, and made a legit run.

Otherwise, this feels like the kind of game that could do more to hurt Caleb’s confidence (hope I’m wrong) than build on what are serious NFL-level issues for him managing games at this level—especially with the Bears trauma that basically birthed him into the league

Ps edit: I do think the Bears win this game, and it’s done mainly through the run game and a passing attack that is well designed that GB just doesn’t have the guys to stop. I think our defense puts up some yards but gets key stops when it counts and puts GB in a tough spot early on the road. Caleb plays one of his complete games and takes what the defense gives him.

  17. I wont lie; it’ll be a heartbreaker if they built all that momentum from beating the packers at home with that amazing game only to lose the wildcard to this shitty packers team.

However; The Bears will eventually have to slay this dragon and push out this disgusting turd before they can really claim to be the next best team in the NFC North.

  18. I won my league and the commissioner is a Packers fan.

  19. They need to beat GB or it will be an *Season….2of3 to GB, 0-2 to Detroit and bad lose vs Minnesota….long way to go with a tougher schedule next season…all spells set back

  20. This is by far the most exciting season I have experienced since the Hester Super Bowl season (although Grossman was frustrating to watch). If we get killed on Saturday, I’ll still call this a success!

  21. The Chicago Hedge

I say this as a cubs/bears fan, and in humor. I get it, I’m very excited at the progress, feels like the 2015 Cubs.

but fuck it, SHOCK THE WORLD!!

  22. It’ll be a waste if they lose to the packers. It’ll make the cheeseheads and the rest of the doubters right about us being frauds. The cheeseheads will never let us hear the end of it. If they win on Saturday then this will be the best season I can remember no matter when/if they get eliminated later.

  23. I’d be disappointed if they lose to the packers. Expectations are they should win this game they have the advantages in this game. If this was the same team we saw in game 1, I’d agree they would be lucky to be here. But they aren’t that team from week 1, so sorry bears I’m holding you to a higher standard now.

  24. 1st division title in 7 years. QB breaks the franchise single season passing yards record (I know, 17 games). Defense leads the league in turnovers. +6 wins from the previous season. If you’d been told all these things would happen in the preseason with a first round loss in the playoffs, you’d probably take it.

  25. Curious about the worst statistical defense to win the Super Bowl. If we were to win, our defense would have to be the worst ever to win a Super Bowl.

  26. no one will tell me otherwise, no pissed off podcaster or radio host, no national talking head. this season is 100% a success. it’s already starting to make me not listen to morning radio because they are already posturing to be outraged even tho they themselves said it was an 8 win season and bears werent going to win anything

  27. Whatever happens, I ain’t mad. I wasn’t expecting any of this until next season lol
