Coaches getting fired left and right, but Dave Toub and Connor Embree are still employed by my team

   Man. One bad season after a decade of running the league and fans want to ship everyone out. To be honest, they’ve earned some grace.

5. I just saw this – so at least one team who hasn’t announced has called Harbaugh haha. Lots of other teams making changes quickly.

6. I can excuse Toub. He’s earned some grace by being one of the top ST coaches in the past decade or so. But Embree? Should have been gone loooong ago. He’s not good at his job at all. Absolute filth.

7. The Chiefs won’t announce they are firing a skill position coach or quality coach/coordinator. They will just announce their replacement if/when it happens.

   I suspect those changes will occur after we sort out our OC, and that probably won’t happen until the HC market settles down in a couple of weeks or months.

8. Dave Toub should be fired immediately. He’s lived off of Butker’s leg, but now that is gone. His problem is that he can’t coach the special teams players to not hold or block in the back. If I remember correctly they even had a holding penalty when they were the kicking team.

12. This is always the toughest time of the year for us. We have to watch other teams hold their coaches accountable for their performances, while Andy Reid and Co sit on their thumbs and smile and say “nothing to see here, folks, everything is perfect in KC!”

15. It’s only been 48 hours. Also Nagy is almost certainly gone which is the important one.

16. Just because we haven’t fired everyone doesn’t mean a search isn’t underway.  If Andy doesn’t make any changes I’m probably going to write off next season as well.

    We should just eat Pat’s massive cap hit without restructuring, tank for another year and rebuild.

18. I love Andy but this is what got him run out of Phili. It’s clear the offense is just Mahomes at this point.

19. Harbaugh gettin canned might make Tennessee take a harder look at Nagy. He’s a good old boy hire to begin with who will most likely net you a .500 team at best. If Nagy wasn’t boys with GM I doubt he would be on list of candidates. If he doesn’t get hired or picked up elsewhere, it wouldn’t surprise me to see him back with Andy. That’s going to be what screws the Chiefs.

26. Toub unlike the others at least got better play out ST towards the end of the season and has really done a lot to develop Araiza

    Embree and Pinkston need to go, or possibly swap roles at the very least

27. Toub is staying. This is basically his only bad year as a ST coordinator of his career. No reason to fire him over that.

    Embree is a positional coach, so he and every other positional coach know their spot is dependent on the coordinator that’s hired. They’re not going to announce a positional coach firing before addressing the important job he reports to. He both has a job and doesn’t. He’s like a Schrodinger’s Coach.

28. Folks thinking Toub was going anywhere were crazy. They made him assistant HC. I assume that’s a mix of wanting to reward him and also guarding him against interviews.

    The only interviews KC has to grant for Spags are HC (you’re not allowed to block a coach from an interview at another club if it’s a promotion).

    You can block your LB coach from being interviewed for a LB coach on another team, but you can’t block him from a DC interview.

    And the only promotion from Assistant Coach would be Head Coach, I assume.

29. There are a few good OCs available this season, only if Reid would let them do the play calling once in a while. Atleast let them control some aspects of it to bring some freshness. Also Reid isn’t going to be around in the next 5 years so best to start preparing for the successor.

30. Toub was once touted at the best special teams coach ever. What happened?

31. What the heck are people talking about Toub for? Toub is awesome.

32. Toub has had far better and some pretty elite seasons more so than what ST dished up this season, so considering what a mess as a whole 2025 was, I’m happy for him to stay for another season.

    Embree’s future we won’t know until the OC position is settled.
