[BILICKI] Bo Bichette offered free ‘steak for life’ from Toronto restaurant if he re-signs with Jays

  1. if he eats a $30 steak there every day for a year, that’s $10,950 added to the contract value

    enticing /s

EDIT: apparently my home-cooked food and cheap local diners has made me woefully ignorant of prices

  2. I’ve never understood offering relatively cheap things for free to people that could buy out the whole business if they wanted

  3. You know what you got to do Joey Merlino. Free cheesesteaks from Skinny Joeys for life.

  4. Their most expensive steak is a $275 40oz porterhouse. If he ate there every day between now and his 100th birthday, then that’s over $7M worth of steak (not accounting for obvious inflation).

I know what you’re all gonna say – “Bichette has to play away games so it’s *not possible* for him to eat there every day!” But in this scenario Bichette uses his contract money to clone an identical twin named Mo Michette who goes to the restaurant in his place when Bo is on the road.

  5. Not this shit again. It’s gotta be a bad omen by now. Like I’m wagering Bo does not re-sign, specifically because I saw this steak thing. Damnit.

  6. Another restaurant did the same thing during the free agent period when Kawhi Leonard won a championship with the Raptors.

  7. I have no steaks (no pun intended) but honestly i hope they resign him. Hes a good fit for them.

  8. So the restaurant makes sure that it’s pretty safe before making this offer. I would have liked to see them do this during the World Series

  9. Jimmy’s Seafood does this in Baltimore with crab cakes and it usually backfires

Most famously Chris Davis and Manny Machado for the Orioles but also Jeremy maclin and Michael Crabtree for the Ravens. About the only good one so far was Derrick Henry

  10. Always fun when mega-rich people get stuff for free that us poors have to pay full price for.
