Well this says nothing I didn’t know about Brennan Carroll but gives me a whole new appreciation for Spytek. The fact that he was willing to sit with the rookies and break film down is almost unheard of from a GM
This isn’t really what happened at all lmao. He offered to do film sessions with all the rookies, both O and D.
Spytek said this was eye-opening. We know qb is going to be addressed, hopefully this means we put extra emphasis on line since it was clearly the biggest issue
If Spytek has the time, great!
And I don’t know why no other gms do this. You would think film sessions is integral to player evaluations.
Wait you’re saying we are getting the number #1 pick AN our terrible O line will have addition by subtraction? !?! 2026 raiders are BACK!
The Spytek bit of it sounds less bad than I’d thought. It’s unusual, but something he likes to do and apparently he’d done it with Brady.
Fuck yeah Spytek
Pete’s gone, Chip’s gone, Brennan’s gone. Next staff needs more cohesion and work together than season long BS. Tell JPJ what position he’ll start from day1 and have him work his ass off on it. No more competition for the job.
Props to spytek for putting in the effort. Every passing day it seems like he didn’t want Pete from the jump.
Why the hell didn’t they fire him?? Nepotism fucking sucks.
This regime was so bad. How did this get this bad so fast?
I think we will soon find out how fortunate we are to have Spytek.
There are/were people on this sub who defended keeping pete carroll.
Spytek is my new favorite person in front office. What a shit show.
Honestly the fact that Spytek stepped up when everyone else was fucking around shows he actually gives a shit about the young talent and the well being of the organization.
I don’t like having to fire a coach after one year, but this is the issue. You can’t have nepotism like this that just screws up your entire offense.
Let Spytek cook
JFC… at what point does a GM fire a coach and appoint their own interim? Surely the GM can go over the HC and do this, regardless of what the HC may think?
I honestly think we would’ve been better off without Brennan on-staff at all
How is this not “conduct detrimental to the team”…
I honestly felt slightly bad for Pete and didn’t place the the blame solely on him for this season. Hearing this shit though kinda takes it up a notch and he can kindly fuck off
Get him the fk out of our building. He’s gone now since Pete got fired, right?
Brennan Carroll is who I’m referring to
This is insightful stuff but I wish it wouldn’t leak it’s just a really bad look for the team
Tells me a lot about my future hopes for JPJ next season. Gotta stay healthy though, but otherwise glad to hear he is valued even by other teams
I see this a plus for Spytek more than a negative for Pete. We knew what the issue was by week 6. Pete needed to fire his son and didn’t.
Moving forward I’m almost more concerned about who the OC and O line coach will be rather than the HC. At this point Brady and Spytek are looking for someone younger who they can mould and manipulate.
Sounds like Spytek was the only one that wanted the rookie class to develop…
JPJ would 100% be a probowler on another team.
Incredible. How do I get a job like this?
I’m reminded of that press conference about a third of the way into the season when Pete was asked about the OL doing so poorly, when it was mostly the same guys from 2024, just in different positions. And Pete was politely defensive, saying they put a lot of time and thought into how they set up the OL.
Then of course blaming Chip Kelly. Granted, he didn’t do very good, but he took the high road out, and we know now he may have not have been the solution, but he wasn’t the problem either.
Unless Pete was trying to tank all along?
I had a great feeling about Spytek as soon as he was mentioned as a potential option for us last offseason and I still feel that way now. I think he’s the fucking real deal and I hope he gets the opportunity to show that.
Damn spytek really cares about the players he drafted, I’m fully behind letting this man cook this year with drafting and hiring a competent head coach.
Spytek loves his job, this org, and the players if this is to be believed. To help tutor his young draft class is such gold-star on his character and commitment to excellence
This explains a lot. It’s possible there is other talent on the team. What a mess.
Again Carroll WAS NOT THE OPTION SPYTEK WANTED.
Carroll was the 4th/5th option. So glad they fired Pete.
Damn that was a grim read…
Just give us Jon Gruden, jfc.
Spytek is the man.
Remember when Hondo kept doing reports and videos that “many HCs view Brennan Carroll as a top choice coach. That there are many who view him as high end. How Brennan was clearly never the issue”….
This guy is gone with Daddy right??? I feel like he’s one of the biggest problems we had.
Spytek my king 👑
BRENDAN IF U SEE THIS… LATER SHIT BAG 💩👋🏼
Spytek could have fired Brennan Carroll and he didn’t do it
