[Arrowhead Corner] Eric Bieniemy is a legitimate option and had the inside track for the role of becoming the #Chiefs OC, but Kliff Kingsbury’s dismal in Washington has thrown a spanner into the works. Per, @ByNateTaylor on @KCSportsNetwork.

  1. I’d be happy with either. It would be interesting to see what Kingsbury could do with Mahomes, Worthy and Rice.

  2. Anybody but Bieniemy. Not that I dislike him but we seriously need some new ideas. Going backward isn’t the answer.

  3. Conner Embree has just as much as experience as me and got hired. Its a joke if hes the wr coach next year

  4. I had no idea EB was chicagos current RB coach. Swift and Monagai have looked awesome…can’t imagine he would make a lateral move to our RB coach if KK gets the OC job.

  5. I wouldn’t love either of them. Neither are true outsiders that can bring a totally different facet to the organization

  6. Itll be so disappointing if it is EB. I will head into next season expecting medicroty. It will signal that the organization doesnt know what’s wrong.

  7. I just don’t see the appeal. EB didn’t last in Washington. Then went to a college team, where his offense was terrible. Ben Johnson is a run game guru. Something tells me Chicago’s run game is more Johnson than Bienemy. Chiefs need new ideas. An offensive wizard. EB is not that.

  8. I would be so fucking happy if we got Kliff Kingsbury as our OC. It makes a lot of sense too since he coached Patrick Mahomes at Texas Tech. I do think he’s a great OC and Washington made a massive mistake firing him so soon.

  9. Answer is Scheelhaase but this organization has lost the script. Keep wasting Patrick’s prime.

Bring in a young OC from McVay’s tree. Rams have free-running WR’s every year regardless of personnel.

  10. Our best receiver for the last decade is most likely gone. That is what we need replaced, but it’s bot actually just a receiver.

  11. I understand that he really does have some insider knowledge but I don’t trust half the shit Nate says anyways.

  12. Don’t hate it, Kliff has done pretty well in Washington. Preference is to try and get Scheelhaase but I don’t see Andy or the organisation at large doing it.

Also wouldn’t hate EB coming back, but I’d rather something relatively fresh and new.

  13. I think Kafka is more realistic. But I would be pretty excited about Kliff, bringing in a coordinator with no previous Andy Reid connection would be really intriguing. It would force Andy out of his comfort zone and bring some fresh ideas to assimilate into the offense. Reid’s at his best when surrounded by a bunch of strong voices and a steady stream of fresh ideas, he’s great at bringing it all together into one cohesive vision.

  14. I strongly doubt Kliff is a real candidate. Kliff is a hot prospect, why would he go to KC to be second fiddle to Andy? Kliff is either getting an HC job or going to team with a defensive HC and have total control of the offense.

  15. Well if a fan account on Twitter with terrible grammar says it’s true, it must be.

  16. I’m not totally convinced by either options. Bieniemy is moving backwards and Kliff has not performed consistently at the head coach or OC position

  17. About all I’m sure of at this point is if any changes are made they’re going to be garbage or retreads. No real faith in Andy to realize his offense doesn’t work any more, or to fire under-performing nepo hires after his comments today about a “talented staff” and the same old “we just need to clean things up” nonsense.

Kingsbury runs an overly simple offense that falls apart by year 2, him being buddies with Mahomes does nothing to make the team better.

This team is going to be stuck in the same offensive rut it has for the last 3 years until Andy retires. Just burning prime Mahomes seasons with bad offensive scheming and playcalling.

  18. RPO doesn’t work if the opposing D doesn’t have to respect the run part of the option. Old 49er west coast offense doesn’t work without Roger Craig.

Anyway, guess the point is better have a plan at RB regardless of OC, or retirement might come earlier than Reid was planning.

  19. Kingsbury will just execute the Andy Reid 1990’s offense. At least Bieinemy would instill some discipline and chew ass, Kingsbury will be the same old, same old.
