2. Something that should be recognized, the ability to film, and watch film was wayyyyyyyyyy more difficult. Kind of a “yeah, no shit” statement. But videotape was pretty new. Resolution sucked. You certainly weren’t  able to pull it up on your phone. The amount of trial and error all these guys had to go through can not be understated. The tools that exist now would seem like science fiction to a young Greg Maddux. You just had to go out and throw. And when it didn’t work, you had to throw more.

5. We would skip school if Muddux was pitching a day game, stay up late if he was pitching on the west coast. He’s literally the only player I did that for — and I was an infielder. He was just masterful and you knew every start he was going to spin something special.
