Tomorrow if Bowles isn’t fired. We are done for years. Harbaugh would change this culture but keeping Bowles, it’s over. No more Superbowls.
Yes! Harbaugh all the way
Man I want somebody younger. I’m over 60+ year old head coaches.
Not to be the cold water, but I’ve gotta zag with a lot of the positive Harbaugh opinions on this sub.
Is he an upgrade over Bowles? For sure. Is he the best potential hire on the market? I don’t think so. Those Baltimore teams, while successful in the regular season, always disappointed in the playoffs and had some awful meltdowns at least once a year. Try having a 3rd & 28 vs. Atlanta once or twice every year, it’s not fun even if you are winning 10-12 games a year.
I know he won a Super Bowl in 2012, but that was a long time ago. We’ve heard nonstop about how Todd Bowles won a Super Bowl with a defensive masterpiece 5 years ago and that feels like ancient history at this point.
I won’t protest the hire, it would almost assuredly improve every facet of the team. It probably takes us back to the top of shit mountain. But I have doubts it gets us back to the mountaintop we actually want to be on. I’m personally more excited at the prospect of a Chris Shula, Jesse Minter, or a hail mary run at Dan Lanning
Problem is, he’d have to wanna come here
I’d settle for whoevers sitting in section 217, row 7, seat 4 at this point.
The superbowl that was 14 years ago? With 3 hall of famers on defense?
Lmao, no thanks. At least pick someone who’s not pissed away several games and can’t seem to get his team past big games.
As much as I hate to say it, there is not a single candidate out there that excites me. Are there ones that would be an update or potentially higher ceiling? For sure. But I don’t see a Ben Johnson or (ironically) Coen that makes me feel excited about the current pool.
While Harbaugh is the best of the options, I think we need to go the Ram route and find a McVay. The issue there doesn’t seem to be one in this cycle.
I believe this is the main reason the Glazers haven’t made a decision. We know that by firing Bowles they will take a big financial hit. I don’t think they do it unless they feel they are going to bring in a big game changer.
As much as I hate it, while many of the candidates provide a better option than Bowles, not sure any of the candidates are THE OPTION.
Issue is not a single one of us want to ensure another year of Bowles / Grizzard, so any semi-attracrive option is better
