This game was music to Jesse Minter’s ears
Honestly I did not think losing this game would actually lead to Harbaugh being fired. I don’t think it would have happened but I think the more likely outcome would have been Tomlin parting ways with the Steelers or vice versa should we have lost.
The Bengals had to have at least considered firing Taylor. The irony of 3 AFC North coaches getting fired in one year and none of them being Tomlin would’ve made this sub explode.
Half the fan base is more upset we won the division, than they would be if we lost because now Tomlin won’t be fired.
Tomlin’s job was guaranteed when we beat the Ravens on the road earlier this year.
A lot of people are shitting on Harbaugh for poor play in close games but how many of those specifically came against Tomlin?
Edit: judge for job.
There’s no chance that Tomlin would’ve been fired had he lost. Anyone thinking that has not paid attention to this organization. It’s certainly possible that he would’ve decided to part ways with the organization, which still might happen depending upon how the playoffs go.
True story
Yep
I think that’s fair. I also don’t think Tomlin’s out of the woods yet. A bad loss gives Rooney something to think about between now and when Tomlin’s option comes due.
This sums it up, if you’re a moron.
Even if they had lost, there is no way Tomlin would’ve been fired. If/when he leaves the organization, it’ll be on his own terms.
As Ravens fan, we are pissed he missed, but happy with the outcome…this meme is great
Rooney would’ve never fired Tomlin even with another end-of-season collapse, at home, in primetime. He’s a coward drunk who can’t make a move other than his far-superior father ever made.
First of all, Tomlin will never ever in a million years be straight up fired. At best, his contract won’t be renewed and the team will quietly part ways with him. And even that won’t happen. He has a job for life.
No it doesn’t. If anyone believes they will fire Tomlin based on a made or missed FG the they don’t understand how the Rooneys operate.
They’ll have a discussion and might come to a mutual decision to part ways, but only after enough time passes to take emotion out of the decision and never outright firing him.
He might decide to leave and go to TV for a year, but if he wants to coach next year he’ll be back, regardless of if we want that or not.
No other team would consider firing or forcing their coach to resign right after winning their division(losing it maybe, or deciding he’s done coaching on his own). It’s crazy that this sub has devolved into thinking that’s a logical move.
Lmao Tomlin would be hired tomorrow. If he took duck Hodges to the playoffs that’s really all you need to know. There’s a reason nobody knows duck and it ain’t because he be quackin
Tomlin has a better record head to head against Harbaugh.
Tomlin has the locker room fully locked in playing for him.
Harbaugh did not have the locker room.
Tomlin has a better overall resume than Harbaugh.
Tomlin > Harbaugh.
While I’ve definitely been on the fire Tomlin train, unironically i think this is probably the singular case where it’s hard to say this game would’ve been his fault if they lost. It was a pretty solid game played by the team outside of like, 3 blown plays by Ramsey. Cause Ramsey for sure just fucked up his coverage assignment on the two Zay Flowers TDs messed up the Likely catch.
A lot of the times they lose, it’s cause of bad coaching and bad execution, but if they lost this time, it was definitely because of execution. There was only two moments I can recall when I just went, oh, the was a terrible call by the coaching staff. The tush push from two yards out and the pitch on the one yard line. Meanwhile, there’s at least five plays off the top of my head where, if they executed properly, would’ve made this nail biter into a comfortable W. The aforementioned blown coverages by Ramsey, breaking up the Likely catch, Highsmith and Benton letting Lamar split them on the sack, and Herbig also not sacking Lamar. If even a single one of those plays was finished correctly, we walk out of their without having to rely on the grace of God.
you know how it is, if my aunt had guy parts, she’d be my uncle
