Honestly, Trae breaks my heart. Beyond the numbers or the streaks, few players have given me so much enjoyment in this city; he deserves to succeed wherever he goes and, above all, to be loved at least half as much as we have loved him here.
It pains me to see how the press and other fans treat him with so little respect. Reading ridiculous offers that seem like insults to his talent is exhausting. A toxic narrative has been created about his defense to justify any lack of respect, while other players who don’t even try are forgiven for everything. It’s very bitter to see this ending for someone who gave us so much.
