We are now close to the halfway mark of the season. Up to this point, he is averaging 5 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game on 30/26/70 splits (22 minutes per game). With the recent rise in Craig Porter Jr's play and the growing frequency in DNPs for Ball, do you think it's time to put this experiment to rest?

  1. He needs to be the 15th man at this point. I feel for the guy, but it’s just so obvious that he makes the team worse. Too bad we can’t send him to the Charge for a spell so he can get in a groove.

The only upside to Ball is that his contract has a team option next year.

  2. Initially, I was willing to expect some serious rust. Because of that, I understood that they needed to be patient with him and allow him to get into game shape and mentally ramp up.

He’s just looked SO BAD. I understand the move to get him, but he just looks like he’s lost it more than anyone realized. You needed to give him an extended look, and I say the team has done that. With Porter playing the way he is, I don’t know how you continue to give Lonzo serious minutes. It’s post-christmas, they have no time left to mess around.

  3. We need a lift from somewhere off the bench so I’m ok with rolling him out as we have been. It goes without saying that he needs to be better in order to see meaningful minutes.

  4. Yeah lol the team wins without him and vibes better without him on the floor. Time to drop him.

  5. I defended him for the first couple months of the season but he hasn’t turned things around. Him jump shot is broken and he doesn’t put any pressure on the rim. He has moments on defense but not enough to make up for his offense. He’s basically Delly his last couple seasons with the Cavs. He completely lost his jumper and was of the league not long after.

  6. we are at midseason? he’s on a good team he can earn it back in garbage timez enough is enough

  7. One thing that people should keep in mind regarding the Lonzo acquisition is that he is a nice chunk ($10mm) of expiring salary

Could be really useful in facilitating a trade and pretty easily just dumped to a team looking for cap relief this summer

  8. we lost the trade clearly. cool guy but
    – he’s the 7th highest paid player on the team, above Merrill, Wade, Tomlin, CPJ
    – playing over 20 minutes a game and
    – passing the moment he gets the ball, bricking shots, and damaging our offence with his passiveness

  9. We need to trade him, there’s no way around it. This team needs perimeter defense and better rebounding, and Ball’s contract plus Nance are probably the only assets we have to get it done. We can’t trade Wade because he’s too important for us.

  10. Him and wade have expiring contracts. Won’t be surprised if they get moved by the deadline

  11. Well, I don’t think he should be playing unless it’s garbage time or if he absolutely has to bc injuries to others. But I wouldn’t use the wording “run out of chances.”

I think he’s just fallen out of the rotation and would have to show that he deserves minutes again in order to work his way back in barring injuries

  12. Lonzo at this point should be an end of bench PG who only comes in bc of injury or its a blowout.

  13. Not a good fit for Kenny-ball, though I’m not sure we have a good roster for Kenny-ball this year.

  14. Porter had a statline of 8/9/9 with 2 steals and 3 blocks last night.

That’s our backup PG. Not Ball. Trade him.

  15. Yeah I would love if they got rid of him. My only worry is who would want him?

  16. They never restocked his Classic edition jersey since the first wave. He has been on the trading block for months. I really wanted Ball to play well but it clear his injury was just to much.
