I like this but I really hope we didn’t give up Caissie
100 percent Cassie gone
The return?
Love that we sent Caissie and not shaw
🙌🏼🙌🏼
really hope the rumor of the package is not true bc caissie was easily my favorite prospect in the entire system
The only weird thing is if we give up Caissie then PCA is the only major league outfielder signed past this coming season.
I really hope it’s not Cassie, I really hope it’s we’re sending Shaw which would also mean the possibility of Bergman
Maybe Jed had a New Years Eve suaree with Tucker….run it back
Hopefully shaw is the centerpiece of the deal. Keep Cassie. Sign a Bichette for 3B. Hey a girl can dream🤷♂️
If we check the trade tree, this is 3 years of Cabrera for 3 years of prime Darvish, which… is not the best.
If I had to grade this trade right now, I’d give the Marlins an A- as Caissie is under team control for much longer than Cabrera. He’s a great pickup for them. The only reason it’s not an A is due to Caissie’s strikeout concerns.
My grade for the Cubs would be a B- with the potential to jump to a B+. The Cubs needed a starting pitcher and the free agent market is very thin this offseason. This is a great pickup of a middle to top of the rotation starter (if they can figure out his fastball) with 3 years of team control. However, the top of the farm system for the Cubs is pretty depleted now. If the Cubs sign a free agent to a multi-year contract I’d bump the grade up to a B+ as player depth won’t be a big concern. Otherwise it’s a B-, not a bad move but does leave things to be desired.
I will be more happy to see shaw on the trade headline than when the bears clinched the playoffs.
Holy shit they did something. I’m scared to see what we gave back though.
