Penguins lines at practice today. Apparently kindel and malkin were taking turns at 2C and left wing.

  4. well if it doesn’t work i hope dan doesn’t hesitate too much to give geno his big boys back instead of trying to make kindy and chinakhov stick cuz that line was humming before he got hurt

  5. I dont see much of a point in this. Geno, Mantha, Brazeau clicked early, can’t imagine why it wouldnt still be clicking.

    Malkin at wing hasn’t ever really worked.

    Kindel has looked fine, and his passing is legit, but 2nd line C? I don’t see it yet. I also don’t see enough scoring to be 2nd line wing either.

    The only thing that makes sense is they are dying to keep Novak in the lineup. Which does have it’s merits.

    Making the 2nd line an experiment so the 3rd line is legit is odd.

  6. Genuinely think Malkin would fare better at the wing with Kindel playing center.

  7. Interesting change to see whether the kid line was really just the Kindel line. I will say Kindel/Malkin on the same line could result in a lot of giveaways, but interesting nonetheless.

  9. 3rd line going to feast. Only thing I’m worried about is defensive play of that 2nd line.

  10. I mean…there’s definitely a part of me that’s sad to see Mantha/Malkin/Braz split up. They were really cooking before the injuries. But I get the idea. Just happy to have Geno back.

  11. I gotta be honest, this is giving me a bit of chub.

    Mantha -Novak- Braz have been good as a 2nd line, so I’ve got no doubt they’ll find success as a 3rd. But more importantly, I’m so excited to see Geno with 2 young, highly skilled players… it’s as if someone heard that he’s been begging for good young wings for years and decided to try it.

    I can see both those lines going off.

    The last time Geno had a wing with a shot like that James Neal made himself a name and a boatload of money. (also shout out to Petr Sykora).

  14. Malkin on wing finding chemistry with Kindel would help extend is career and could be dangerous with Kindels IQ. I hope this works, been saying this since he made the team.

  15. You guys still remember that one time when we all whined, pissed and moaned when Dubas selected Kindel? I’ll keep saying this every so often lol

  17. Malkin with decent wingers for the first time in a while and a third line that looks dangerous…. We might be back

  19. Curious to see how second line does when moving Mantha and Brazeau away from Malkin. I like seeing Kindel have more opportunities with big named vets but I also loved the mutant line at start of season. LGP!!

  20. Why split up the Mutant Line? Its like this team is doing everything in its power to make itself worse.

  22. You know what the great part of this is?

    If during the game, things aren’t working out, we can go right back to the ‘Mutant’ line and the ‘ABC (Novak) / ‘Kid’ line.

  23. Mutant line, kid line and 4th line have been great. Are they doing this incase things have to be mixed up, or are they looking to do this Thursday?
