  1. Tatsuya wants to beat the Dodgers and the other Japanese guy went to the Blue Jays so maybe if one team is out if it they'd trade their guy to the other team to take out the Dodgers. I'd really love the Japanese if this is what they're doing.

  2. I remember in the 70's we signed Poole for a 6 year deal and he didn't play well till the last year of his contract. Then he wanted another contract, and the Astros told him no.

  3. 2:20 Actually it cannot be 1 year 21 mil. The extra 9 mil are escalators not incentives. If he throws 100 innings this year, his 2027 contract becomes 24 mil and his 2028 contract becomes 21 mil. If he opts out after the first year, the Astros will have only paid him 18 mil and 10 mil to his Japanese team. It is structured this way to make it more likely he stays for 2 years

  4. Why not bring Urquidy back? Most likely for cheap. He is pitching good in the Mexican and Dominican leagues. Should be a no brainer to bring him back.

  5. Thanks for the update and shout out to Charlie for responding back to my comment on this subject on the Texans on Tap podcast a few days ago! Love you guys – keep up the great work!
