Well that was fast. How does this affect ATL’s pick?

  1. This is probably bad for us/the pick actually. They were better with him off the floor

  2. This sucks. I liked Trae on the Hawks. Got to see him play against the Spurs last season. Great game.

  3. Nothing changes. Hawks will still be mid and we should still hold on to the pick swap imo

  4. Im confused as to why we dont want this as spurs fans. The worse the hawks do, the better chances we get a high pick, right?

  5. I think the “Young made them worse” narrative has merit but is a bit overblown. Their schedule with Young out was very soft comparative to when he was healthy. JJ has also been pretty injury prone so turning over the franchise to him comes with risks. They also still aren’t escaping their star player being a defensive liability, Johnson has been very bad on that end since his usage has gone up.

Overall when it comes to our picks I think atleast for this year and next it doesn’t change a whole lot. They still have terrible interior defense and now no real #2. I think this lowers their floor more than it raises their ceiling so we’ll see how it plays out.

  6. I think Hawks probably got better with this trade tbh. But maybe it will take some time to get team chemistry together.

  7. does this really make the hawks better? Like yeah Trae has been struggling but I don’t think he’s completely negative value.

  8. Trae Young must be the only player in NBA history to want to get traded to the Washington Wizards looool. It’s crazy how low his value is right now, Atlanta should’ve traded him years ago

But I do lowkey like it for Trae. They desperately need w point guard and I think he will fit in nicely with Alex Sarr, Tre Johnson, Kyshawn George & Justin Champagnie

  9. The Hawks will become a better team, but they should have demanded at least one first round pick from the Wiz. But the Hawks won this trade since it will loosen their cap space, as McCollum’s contract will end sooner

  10. Just straight up? Ain’t no way his market was that low, it’s basically nonexistent. That could’ve been a salary dump for a bunch of seconds

  11. This is actually worst for us, they play MUCH better without him. So I was hoping he didn’t get traded at least until the deadline lol

  12. I don’t understand the fixation with these picks. We only have a certain amount of money and IMO we have max contract players that we need to pay in Wemby and Castle. Fox is a max contract and Vasell has already been paid. We need to get rid of the picks and get good rotation players on good contracts. Do people think OKC are just gonna keep those picks and draft in the top 5 when they also have 2 max players and are going to need to pay Chet ? If you’re watching this team and actually thinking about the draft you’re head is in the fucking clouds.

  13. I still remember when everyone was talking about the Trae to SA rumors. Hope he can do something for the Wiz

  14. ” I want to be traded to the great and storied Washington Wizards” said absolutely nobody until now 😂

  15. Wizards desperate to attract fans/eyeballs, and this probably works a little for them. Trae is happy to be going somewhere where he can shoot at will and fans don’t expect wins. Perfect situation from his high volume low percentage zero defense style of play. He’s a good passer but that’s usually offset by his league leading or near the top number of turnovers. What a middling trade by both teams to dump salary and assets.
