We got trae

  1. We are flipping paper clips for mansions but I’m not sure where in the process we are

  2. So no draft compensation for either side or is Shams just teasing us? Either way the best player we’ve had in DC since… Russ?

  3. I bet you he’s motivated and knows he’s coming into a situation where he has to help the young guys. I think this can work out and it’s at a great value

  4. I like this deal a lot. Ton of upside and only parting with two guys who didn’t have a huge future with us anyway

  5. Damn, if no picks coming in, then Dawkins and Winger may want him as a piece of the future?

  6. I am worried Trae might steer the tank to too many wins to keep the protected pick

  7. I’m not a huge Trae fan, but turning Poole into Trae without giving up any real assets is a no-brainer from the FO. Really hope they shut him down and continue the tank. A top 3 pick in this draft is imperative, even more so with Trae on board.

  8. Pretty good value for Trae. And he seems motivated and wants to be here (for some reason)

  9. Insane to think this isn’t a complete fleecing lol. They traded an expiring contract and Corey Kispert for Trae Young. This is a home run.

  10. Clearly, Dawkins and Winger wanted to buy low on a distressed asset. Without pick compensation, I’m overall down on the trade. If they give him an extension bigger than 3/100, I’m going to hate this trade.

  11. ur gm fleeced them wtf LOOOL

no core guys really given up (was kispert considered core) for superstar level player

i know the media is low af on trae young, but hes such a good fuckin player

    wizards takeover begins

im a pistons fan but i keep my eye on the wizards somewhat

  12. Great value, but do we risk playing too well and losing our pick to the Knicks? We need that pick… loaded draft class… would be catastrophic, fireable to fumble it…

  13. the downside is not in the pieces you give up, but in the style of play and how you now have to run everything through Trae

he plays no defense. so it’s 4 against 5 on the defensive side of the court.

but, DC is a great place for Trae to pad his stats the way Jordan Poole did, except Trae will be more consistent on a nightly basis and is a much much better passer than Poole.

all in all though, if it is just McCollum and Kispert and no picks ..

then, it’s a great deal for both teams.
