Outside of division rivals (really just SF and Seattle, AZ is irrelevant) and Pats fans (because they think Maye deserves MVP over Stafford – LOL), what do other fanbases have to hate about the Rams?

  1. It’s mostly just the fact it’s the LA team which everyone else seems to hate

  2. Everyone thinks it would be funny for a playoff team with a losing record to beat a 12 win team, not necessarily hate but neutral fans will always be inclined to pick an underdog

  3. I don’t know any one who “hates” the Rams fanbase we definitely don’t have an annoying obnoxious fanbase like the Eagles or Niners. They really just want the upset 🤷🏻‍♀️

  4. It doesn’t help that r/NFLv2 is even more of a cesspool than r/nfl. I genuinely saw posts about our controversial TD against the Lions two fucking weeks after the game

  5. One of my supervisors at work has told me to kill myself on multiple occasions because I am a Rams fan, so there is that.

  6. Saints are definitely not fans of us for……reasons. But I think there’s a perception we’re the leagues favorite team because we’re in a large market, get a lot of media coverage and ref calls in our favor get put under a microscope. People don’t think of us as underdogs so they’d rather root against us.

  7. Entire NFL fanbase recognizes the level of threat that the Rams are. They want us out ASAP. I don’t blame them.

  8. Every other fanbase with a team in the playoffs knows we are more of a threat than the panthers. So of course they’d like us to lose. Don’t overthink it

  9. Bears fan here. I don’t hate you guys. I want to see Stafford win the MVP, also would not mind if the Panthers won (full disclosure). But I like watching the Rams play football.

  10. “Beat LA” is the ultimate compliment. Take the hatred for what it is, jealousy. No one hates a shitty organization.

  11. All of my football threads with the homies have everyone rooting for the panthers this week

  12. think it’s more about who the Panthers were and how it would be funny if they won over it being specifically related to the Rams

  13. It’s because we’ve been one of the more successful NFL franchises within the last 10 years, also the fact that we share the same city as the Dodgers and Lakers who many ppl dislike just because they win too much. We’re a consistent winning franchise in LA and people hate us for that

  14. Let’s be real, nobody wants their team going head to head with the Rams in the playoffs. 100% of NFL fans would rather their team play the Panthers than the Rams.

  15. As a Vikings fan I’m rooting for you guys, i don’t care what happens as long as Sam Darnold gets beat down in the first game they play, and you guys are most likely to do it.

  16. Idk why I’m getting this sub on my feed, but to answer your question, no people don’t hate you. They’re rooting for the Panthers because that’s the funnier outcome. Especially since they’ve already beaten you and they’re an 8-9 team. You have to realize that the Rams were the favorite for a good portion of the regular season. So to get bounced first round by the worst team in the playoffs would be hysterical.

Though if this happens I personally need the Chargers (ew, FTC) to also win, because both MVP candidates losing first round is even funnier.

  17. Kind of I don’t think it’s say Dodgers or Lakers level of hate but it’s sizable

But if you here in 2021-22 we got a lot of salt on our run. We had people calling us rigged and accusing the NFL of making it easy so that “we’d get fans”.

Having the stability we’ve had over a decade is a dream for most fanbases. Look at all the firings.

But being here I’ve learned to embrace being the villain and I shall be to the rest of the country.

  18. No not really. It more people would like to see the Panthers knock off the best team in the NFL AGAIN. The hate isn’t universal until you win multiple Super Bowls with the refs help.  The Eagles have success, but Crash out on some seasons, just like the Rams.

  19. No who doesn’t root for the underdog. Also the chances of every other team winning it all goes up if we are not in it

  20. If I wasn’t a rams fan I’d definitely be rooting for the panthers but I don’t actively hate any teams in the NFL anymore that aren’t the Niners or Seahawks

  21. Teams rooted for us to win games when we used to be the underdog, this isnt hatred

  22. No hate it likely wouldn’t happen but it would be funny as fuck. Just like if Tulane or JMU made it past the first round of College Football Playoffs.

I live in SD and I don’t hate either LA Team

  23. The entire NFL watching world has hated on the Rams since at least the Coach Robinson days. ESPN had a clear anti-Rams bias during the 80’s- See Chris Berman.
Even in the Rams Dark Ages (90’s), everyone still hated on the Rams. Everyone called the GSOT soft and slobbered on any team that beat them. The moves to StL and back to LA were hated on more than the Browns moving to Baltimore…

  24. They’re afraid that the Rams are that good. They are afraid Stafford will get MVP. Let them be scared of the Rams.

The other fanbases are happy now because the curse wheel landed on the Rams again.

Fuck the other fanbases for hating this hard.

  25. A lot of things I can think of that cause hate for us:

1- there is this persistent myth that the Rams do not have fans, especially in LA, because of the Niners games. This causes people to see us as „phony“ or not „real“ fans if we were not around in Saint Louis.

2- Mandatory rivalry hate between us and the 9ers, competition between us and the Seahawks, Saints hate us because of the CCG no-call, Bengals because we won the Super Bowl against them, Lions because every time we win with Stafford is a reminder that they wasted his career, so they have to force the Goff>Stafford narrative.

3- Average LA hate. Dodgers and Lakers get a lot of hate in sports, so Rams are just an unfortunate casualty. This is manifested by ridiculous narratives that we bought a ring in 2021 (despite everyone having the same cap space), or that the league favours the Rams, somehow. This tendency will show by the excessive amount of scrutiny for every whistle that goes the Rams way.

4- We get a lot of positive coverage. „Look the Rams are doing so well in 13 Personnel!“, „Stafford is amazing, he’s the MVP“, „Snead has drafted so well to accelerate this rebuild“, „McVay is the best coach in the league“, „Rams are favourites to win the Superbowl“, „Puka is amazing!“, etc. There’s rarely any off the field drama (Puka‘s goddamn interview and AJ‘s case were the first in a long time) so there’s a natural inclination to pray on this team‘s downfall for others just so they can say „see they’re not so good“. If you’re a fan of a dysfunctional franchise where the coaching staff gets fired every year or your QB can‘t crack 50 yards passing in a game, you will resent the Rams.

5- Just because people like underdogs and most people root for the team the Rams are playing, like the Panthers on Saturday. If we were playing the Eagles or Niners, everyone would want us to win.

6- At the end of the day, no one cares. You don’t get sympathy points in the NFL. We win and we dominate, that’s our only focus.
