He took his advice last year

  1. I don’t get the Ben Johnson hate at all. Of course I want to beat the bears every game just to show him he wasn’t the reason for our success.

But dude was a great OC and he literally turned down HC offers the year before because he wanted to run it back with the Lions.

Edit: Ok now I get lmao. Still disagree with pretty much every point made here. Really not that interested in defending another’s team’s coach in the comments so probably won’t be responding to any more replies

  2. His quote makes sense because he knows what neglecting your responsibilities does to a playoff team

  3. Doing interviews before the season was over never set right with me, but I understand hes gotta take the opportunities while they are there

  4. He’s such a little twat. He might of won the division but he still can’t beat us. Dan is still his daddy! 😂

  5. “Now that this is *my* team, you better block everything else out and focus on us”

    Yeah, bullshit Ben

  6. I’m so tired of Lions fans acting all butthurt and blaming Ben Johnson for that playoff loss. It’s just so childish. Like Ben Johnson having interviewed with Chicago is why Goff threw 3 picks or the defense gave up 45 to the Commanders? Come on. Grow up.

  7. Wow. Didn’t think it was possible but I hate him even more. What a hypocritical douche.

  8. Yup yup, even before that playoff game I was like dang, I think Washington might win, all this coaches are bouncing distractions are not going to be good for playoff prep. And bam, then they not only lost, but they were barely competitive. Fuck Benny boy…Caleb will never win a Super Bowl, so I guess there is always that.

  9. We bitch about his playoffs last year. Do we bitch about blowing a massive lead to the 49ers with a Super Bowl on the line?

  10. Glad someone else posted this. I read that quote and couldn’t help but laugh. He sure was focused against the Commanders! Same with Glenn!

  11. This sub makes me legit lose hope for you sorry fucks.

THIS IS A GREAT MENTALITY for winning the biggest game there ever was in your profession!

You think he sold us out last year? Ask our defense how much Washington scored to knock us out. Don’t be sorry. Ben is a beast that deserves to see the full extent of his beastliness

  12. I hope these “better best” Bears buggers get bounced asap. So sick and tired of their lucky break comebacks. I don’t think they’re as good as their record says, but these bastards have all the weird luck this year. Keep your shirt on BJ, with your surly serial killer grin.

  13. Lol this comment section is pathetic. Don’t blame him, blame the NFL. They are the ones that allow this shit to happen. What is he supposed to do? Not take head coaching interviews when literally everyone else is and he could potentially lose a job opportunity? The guys that get jobs from the final teams in the playoffs are the last to get jobs in the cycle.

We still put a lot of points in both our playoff losses with him. We only didn’t like a couple plays because they didn’t work. A whole lot he did worked out well. Always want him to lose against us, but BJ didn’t do us dirty or anything. He stayed an extra year when he didn’t need to. Grateful for him

  14. lol

I’m sure lack of focus from our OC and DC both were contributing factors to that playoff loss last year, but tbh I’m convinced Goff had some level of concussion from that massive hit and Hooker just wasn’t trusted (justifiably) to make it happen.

Lots of factors, including a bit of rust from a bye week but this comment from Ben is still pretty rich considering

  15. Hmmmmmmm! FUCK BEN JOHNSON! FUCK BEN JOHNSON!!!! FUCK BEN JOHNSON!!!!!!! Pretty sure he will hear that chant everytime Shitcago comes to Detroit.

  16. THIS is why I can not stand Ben. He was amazing, then he fùckin’ quit on the team, taking the extra time to poach coaches. For me, my disdain for Ben has propelled the Bears past the Packers.

    FBenJ & FTB

    And, still….. FTP

  17. I mean, the way the league is set up, if you are an assistant coach and want a head coaching gig, you have to interview when called or the vacancies are more than likely going to fill. What else did you want him to do? That’s how it works in real life too. If you have an interview for a better opportunity for you and your family, are you going to tell them no because you’re still currently working? No, you fucking interview when they ask you to. Fuck the Bears because it’s Chicago, and fuck Ben because he’s kind of smug and unlikeable, but this whole resenting him for his interviews and the Commanders game is weird. We had people from the streets playing defense. We weren’t going to the Super Bowl last year. Get over it.

  18. Right? How dare he have a dream and an opportunity especially somewhere with a talented QB. Childish Fanbase.

  19. What’s wild is calling a man little after spending 3 years crafting an amazing offense for a shitty franchise. I get having some animosity towards him because he left, but let’s not pretend he didn’t help bring our team out from the grave Patricia dug for us.
