* Good first half offensively. Really doing a solid job limiting turnovers especially with so many guys out. Getting killed on the offensive glass but Houston does to everyone lol. Shaedon gets the shittiest whistle ever I counted like 3 plays in the first half that should have been fouls
* Deni superstar mode today. The Rockets were playing him straight up on most of his drives (unless Sheppard got switched onto him) and playing the PnR 2 on 2, daring him to beat Amen and Eason with scoring. Seemed like for the large part they were committed to not sending help and kicking out to open shooters, and Deni delivered in a huge way. Awesome to see him beat up an elite defense and get to his spots at will. That stretch where he closed the game with 3 and ones was crazy.
* DC shooting looks real. He’s getting guarded out there and made 2 contested ones too!!! I will say, I think he has to find a balance between hanging out on the perimeter and being near the basket. I don’t think I want him spotting up all the time because he’s such a monster offensive rebounder he needs to be by the basket for that. On like pick and pops and trail threes I like him shooting the ball, but I don’t think I like him spending entire possessions on the perimeter spotting up. Also is this the first time in his career he finished with zero fouls?
* Toumani was all grit today. Mediocre statline and fouled out but the play where he got back on defense, blocked a layup leading to a Shae three, then went down and blocked an Eason putback and hit a three himself, won us the game. RIP to his tooth hope they’re able to put it back together. People might see the KD 37 points but Tou was really making him work and thats all you can really ask. He’s one of the greatest scorers in history for a reason.
* Big stretch in the fourth quarter where the Rockets felt like they were gaining momentum but timely shots by Tou, Shae, and some Deni buckets stemmed the tide.
* Rockets are a good three point shooting team by percentage but it was brick city today. Definitely got lucky with shooting variance and them missing open shots but I’ll never complain about that.
* Caleb threw some good passes especially in the first half. Pick and pop to DC, kickout opposite corner to Deni, lob to DC. Had a couple overconfident drives against Amen that were probably ill-advised and a bad pullup three with 16 on the shot clock in the third quarter but overall solid game again
* I think Rupert has become playably bad recently instead of unplayably bad. Which sounds like an insult but Tony Snell made a 9 year career of staying out of the way on offense and generally staying in front of his man on defense. Has been making a lot less mistakes lately in the team defense and not blowing so many rotations
* Eason playing too out of control on offense for them but almost won the game. Jesus that was close
* Yang trying to box out Steven Adams went….predictably. But he had some nice plays in his shift. Forced Adams to miss under the basket, hit a three, cross court no look pass to Shae in the corner for three. Didn’t cost us big in his shift which was huge because we needed it
* Have generally been a fan of the Tiago Splitter experience and getting this group of guys to play well when the back end of the rotation is a bunch of G league guys but however I am not a fan of fouling up 3. Especially with the designated inbounder (Toumani) and the other backup designated inbounder (Cissoko) both fouled out. And how this team struggles enough to inbound anyways. And we can’t make clutch FTs. And Houston is the best offensive rebounding team in the nba. Don’t think that was the right call at all. I also think he was too late on a timeout calll by several possessions in the early fourth quarter when Houston took the lead.
* “marginal contact?” Yeah right.
Nice try refs you’ll get them next time
Heart surgeons in Oregon must be very busy people.
Not even a fan, but holy shit the refs SUCKED this game. Thank God the last call went to Portland, I would’ve felt horrible.
Good lord last two minutes were terrible. DENI FOR ALL STAR
ALL STAR DENI!!
Solidified all star case for Deni
Check the refs phones for draft kings
Was cathartic to hear the Houston announcers eat shit on that last review. Ggs dipshits
What a game. Everyone contribute. DENI WAS UNREAL. Tou had some brillant moments. Hansen shows real improvment.
KD is a pure baller!
Refs suck
Deni confirmed Touthmani
Won by .1 seconds. Wild. I love live sports.
Honestly thought the refs were gonna hand that to the Rockets at the end after that foul was overturned.
I genuinely cannot comprehend how we’re so banged up, legit running lineups with 3-4 guys who probably shouldn’t be seeing minutes, and still winning games or at least keeping every single game close. Hats off to Tiago man he IMO is doing an incredible job.
Deni Avdija for MVP

Deni MVP
lol if you go to the rockets sub they’re bitching that the refs fucked them
Refs were actual dogshit today wow. Seemed like they were literally bullying Yang with the whistle and giving KD the SGA treatment
Deni is a freak. Nobody plays 40 mins and every game.
Hansen got meaningful minutes, Deni scored the most he has as a Blazer and we scrapped a W against KD. what a freakin’ game!!!!
