  1. Thanks to the player that got me excited to turn on Hawks games. Peak time was lobster to CC and JC and our ECF. Best of luck

  2. ICE TRAE 🧊 FOREVER A HAWK LEGEND. WE LOVE YOU I’M SORRY IT DIDN’T WORK! BEST OF LUCK!

  3. Best player i’ve ever gotten to watch in a Hawks uniform. An idol for me growing up and an inspiration to so many others in Atlanta. Franchise legend, no ifs ands or buts about it. 2021 ECF run was one of the best times of my life. Love this team to death and Trae was the catalyst for the best Hawks team i’ve ever seen. I’ll miss him forever and hope he finds his way back here eventually. WE LOVE YOU TRAE

  4. I became a fan of basketball during the 2017 – 2018 season. I rep’d Atlanta being from georgia, but Trae Young was the guy that made me a hawks fan. The 2020-2021 conference finals run was some of the most fun I had had watching sports before. I’ve had to defend him against other basketball friends, and I still will, but it will be very different without Trae at the helm. Thank you for making another fan, Ice.

  5. if the wizards have a better year than the hawks next year i’ll just have to laff and accept life

  6. Can’t even put into words how much this shit hurts. Seriously feels unreal. He’ll forever be my favorite Hawk ❄️

  7. Didn’t think I’d be emotional

That 2021 run was about as much fun as I’ve had as a sports fan.  And now they’re all gone.  😭

  8. It’s not gonna be the same without him. That cocky little gremlin has been central to our identity for close to a decade. He made something out of nothing more often than I can count. He made the hawks so exciting that I became a basketball fan again after losing interest since childhood. I totally get the decision to trade him but man, this hurts

  9. February 24th is the next time the wizards visit. I already went and grabbed some tickets. I hope we have a good tribute for him

  10. Kinda like Mike Vick for the Falcons, Trae made me really interested in watching the NBA and Hawks. The playoff run where John Collins baptized Embiid will live forever in my heart

  11. This is such a bummer. I mean, I get it, but it’s still a bummer. I’ll never forget how exciting it was watching Hawks basketball again in the peak days with Trae, Collins, Red Velvet, CC, Bogi, & Gallo. Kept thinking we were just one (or two) pieces away from really making a run. Good luck in DC, legend.

  12. Forever my guy. Watched him grow into a super star and breathe life into the city. Always repped the A proudly and never complained about shit. I will always appreciate the memories.

  13. Thank you Trae.

I’m a New Yorker and I watched the Hawks religiously because of your game.

I loved the creativity, passing and vision. The deep 3s!!

The fearlessness in your handles, drives, shots and unapologetic style. Inspirational, entertaining, incredible.

Thank you for all you did, thank you for giving years of incredible basketball and eye popping dimes I hadn’t seen as a kid watching Steve Nash.

Thank you and good luck in Washington, I will be rooting you on.

  14. Also, as a person with similar curly hair as Trae, I appreciate that he always let his freak flag fly. “He looks like somebody dropped a lollipop on the floor!” they all said. But did he buzz it all off? Hell no, just kept on cookin’. That’s my fuzzy headed king.

  15. This one hurts like trading Nique. I haven’t enjoyed watching the team this much in almost 20 years, and it was all because of Trae.

  16. I’ll proudly hold my Trae Young jerseys and wish you the best in Washington.

Thanks for riding for the city from day 1. Thanks for all the great moments. Thanks for everything 11.

  17. Gather round folks let me tell you the definitive history of Trae Young.

The negatives will go first, and they are short. After 7 years, it’s pretty clear to me that he’s not the best player on a winning team. The rest of the players standing around on offense and his defense (has gotten better) just never equated to consistent winning.

However, this guy is a complete baller. He was a top 5 pick in the NBA draft. He’s made $190,000,000 in his career at age 28. Just from the NBA, not endorsements. His name is mentioned in stats with Russell Westbrook and Oscar Robinson. He has had 81 30 point, 10 assist games. This guys is a one in 500 million basketball player. 6 foot, 180, and can absolutely play ball with anyone on the planet. He seems like really good guy to me – never caused any issues. Loves his kid, loves his college. I think he still has many many more years in the NBA and he’s going to end very high on some points and assists list. Total baller, respect to him. Good luck out there!
