  1. Good trade. The Cubs could not play both Owens and Ballesteros next year. Not enough room. I believe the Cubs are higher on Ballesteros (as I am). You can never have enough pitching. Ballesteros will be an important lefty DH and Suzuki can go back to RF. I don’t feel the Cubs are done.

  2. Opened up opportunities is a nice way to say creates more uncertainty…. If they don’t sign Tucker this makes zero sense.

  3. Wow! Cubs get a high ceiling, RH starter with velocity, virtually no financial hit and 3 yrs of control for 1 top 100 prospect who K'd at a 29% clip in his 2nd yr at AAA. Caissie was logical trade bait all along. Now $30mil under the CBT to chase a bat, aka Bichette or Bregman. Hoyer fills the 2 big holes IF he swings the 2nd deal.

  4. No faith in Jed Hoyer or Craig Counsell. NEVER should have lost to the crappy Brewers. Brewers scored 4 runs in 4 games versus Dodgers. Counsell KNEW how badly the Brewers wanted to beat him and still couldn't motivate the team to even show up in Game 5. 0-3 in Milwaukee. ZERO passion.

  5. Great Job Jed! yes, we lost Cassie but it takes a lot to get a lot. There is one 3rd Baseman out their that is similar to Aramis Ramirex when he played for the Cubs – Go get em!
