If Rice is indeed gone, I don’t know if I see this as a one year retool and get back into contention anymore. The needs continue to pile on and I’m not sure how you address them with the resources that we have available.
This is the way I saw it previously:
Glaring Holes:
– RB
– Pass Rush
Soft Needs (Technically you have bodies here but you could look to improve):
– DT (cheap bodies available in the FA market make this not a glaring hole to me)
– WR
– RT
Needs based on FA/Retirement:
– CB2
– S
– Sam LB
– TE
Part of the calculation was that Rice and Worthy would be better in 2026 because frankly it couldn’t get much worse. If WR is suddenly in the glaring hole territory I just don’t know how you address it all without an incredible draft.
