Do the New Orleans Pelicans Have ANY Answers for Their Offensive Woes? | Not Worried about Rookies

New Orleans Pelicans unravel against the Atlanta Hawks as half-court offense stalls and roster inconsistencies pile up. Can the front office deliver the fixes this team desperately needs? Zion Williamson, Jordan Poole, and rookie Jeremiah Fears struggle to make an impact while missing key shooters like Trey Murphy and Herb Jones amplifies the team’s lack of firepower.

Jake Madison scrutinizes the Pelicans’ ongoing transition woes, questions the guard and center play, and explores why rookie point guard struggles are nothing new—citing stars like Darius Garland and De’Aaron Fox as proof of future potential. Insightful discussion centers on the opportunity costs of the controversial Jordan Poole trade versus Atlanta’s big move for Trae Young, raising doubts about New Orleans’ front office decisions and their ability to build around Fears and Queen. Is optimism fading for the Pelicans’ rebuild?

  1. Whole front office gotta go, could’ve had Trae and now stuck with a bad Poole contract.
Zion is horrid and should’ve been traded years ago. Let Ingram walk for nothing.
Fears and Queen look good but man if that pick traded is top 3 that’s kind of rough
Shoutout to Jake for covering the team though does a great job.

  2. Sorry but this is a bad take Jordan Poole is on his last year of a 34 million dollar deal.. Point 1
You can trade him to second apron teams like New York Knicks, (Golden State Warriors,) Phoenix Suns, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Minnesota Timberwolves point 2
Joe Dumars said he want to emphasizes evaluating the team's core before making a big trade

  3. Such a lousy take on JP/CJ/Trae trades.
To say that we overpayed for JP when you landed the best piece (not player) going forward is stupid enough. But to think that we would have gotten Trae or better player by keeping CJ is complete nonsense.
Atlanta didn't trade Trae for CJ specifically, they get rid of him for whatever they could bring (in terms of shooting, not playmaking) to a preferred destination by him (the former Hawks GM works for Wizards now).

  4. Why are the lineups so unusual? Is it simply injuries or is this a methodical approach to finding synergy among specific groups of players? Some nights the lineups look purposeful and other nights are like watching a research experiment.

  5. Fears and Queen both were the wrong picks. Small guard and a 6'10 guy that wants to be a guard. They needed rim protection, and perimeter shooting but good old Joe ignored the facts. Hit the lottery help the Hawks which is a better team anyway.

  6. Pels will have a better idea who to trade Poole for next year when he is an expiring. His value next season is the same as CJ's this season (an expiring). We're better off after the trade considering we'll have a better idea about roster construction with our current players, it netted us Bey, and it got us Peavey.

  7. Im just going to say Pels fans should never compare Poole to CJ. CJ is MILLESSSS ahead of that guy and its not close. CJ wouldve won us at least 4 of these games by now. Poole actively kills momentum for us with horrible shots and erratic play with the ball in his hands
