    The Ravens firing Harbaugh, so the Dolphins fire McDaniel to hire Harbaugh, so the Chiefs hire McDaniel and get back to dominating the AFC is just the funniest possible outcome

  8. Get this man to KC NOW. Like, ok fine Dolphins will hire Harbaugh, Kingsbury can be a consolation prize if nothing else.

    But good lord, give McDaniel Mahomes and give them each other to get creative with while one rehabs and the other gets back into a role he is meant for.

  12. There’s, what, 8 head coaching jobs open right now? Guessing the only reason he got fired so late is the dolphins want at least a shot at Harbaugh.

    But he and Stefanski are probably both very likely to get one of the open head coaching jobs.

  19. This couldn’t be a more perfect arrangement. Usually a fired HC miiiight take an OC spot to rehab their image in an effort to get back to a HC spot… but Andy is in the twilight of his career, the will-he-won’t-he of retirement is a story every couple of seasons. This is a situation where if McD shows up and kicks ass at OC, he can effectively become head coach in waiting and Andy can hand over the reins. It’s too perfect for this horrible world to allow it to happen.

  22. Not suprised not hating as a bills fan any time you make a gm change they generaly like to bring in there own head coach that has the same way of thinking they do .

  23. I’d love to find a way to get him, but I would imagine he’ll be a top target now for other HC jobs. In fact I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s now the Ravens top target. Coach swap with Miami

  26. Andy already named Joe Bleymaier — pass game coordinator and Andy yes man. Very high likelihood it’s him. No way an outside thinker like McDaniel retools this offense, at least not on Andy’s watch.

  28. Quick thought, for both McDaniel and Kingsbury: Whoever our next OC is presumably the HC-in-waiting, right?

  29. Guys he had the Dolphins set up for a hot minute how the Chiefs should look in a year or 2. By that I mean, he ran a very modern offensive scheme, I mean he made Tua and some spare parts look pretty good at times. And for a second he had Vic Fangio running the defense. He was just limited by what his QB could do, not what he himself could dream up.

  32. There are 8 job openings, there a better chance he gets another head coaching job before he becomes an OC anywhere let alone in KC

  33. This isn’t a strong year for head coaching candidates. If Nagy is getting as many interviews and attention that he is, McDaniel certainly will as well. I would love for him to come here as OC, but I think he finds another HC job this season somewhere else. 

  38. Offer this man a bag and let him call plays. I don’t know if Andy would ever do it but he’ll be 68 next season, there’s no shame in lightening his workload a little.

  39. I mean if we’re looking for a guy to hold players accountable, I don’t think McDaniels is the answer.
