  1. Unless they also bring back Their old offensive line, Henry, and AJ Brown, they are going to be sorely disappointed if they go with him.

  2. Rodgers made people think Hackett was good too. Think of it as a going away gift to get a real OC in here.

  3. Kind of hilarious how many of you think hes a bad coach when he’s literally getting head coaching interviews. Not sure how people think we would hire a better one when there are so few good OC candidates.

  4. I don’t get why people hate ASmith so much, he’s done a pretty good job this year imo, yes he has a brain fart bad play call in him (I.e the toss play at half bs ravens) but he has took an offence with such minimal stars and made them very competent. By far the best we’ve had in maybe a decade

  5. In the middle of a playoff run, is this normal? Seems like a distraction that I wouldn’t want if I’m apart of the Steelers org. I’m newish to nfl so just curious

  6. This might say more about the Steelers but he has actually been the best OC we have had since probably the first year of Randy Fichtner.

  7. On the one hand, I think there are potentially going to be better options for OC out there than Smith, so having an opportunity to upgrade could be a good thing.

On the otherhand, Smith hasn’t been terrible, and that’s not a guarantee.

  8. Can’t explain but he just looks like a guy named Arthur that’s real into football lmao

  9. It’s hilarious that people think Smith sucks. We’re spending pennies on the offense, what exactly are you expecting him to do? He’s a very decent OC, not the best, but I think he’s done a good job. Austin on the other hand needs to go and I doubt he’s going to be considered for a DC job anywhere else.

  10. I don’t get how people can see how horrible matt canada was and want to risk losing a decent offensive coordinator. People act like good ones grow on trees. I would rather keep Arthur Smith than to lose him and have a worse one. Think about it if an offensive coordinator is good and their team is doing well they are likely to either stay where they are or move on to become a head coach. Meaning there is no pool of good offensive coordinators just lying around.

  11. he may not be elite, but I don’t trust Tomlin to pick a better OC, nor do I think we’re a prime spot for potential candidates. I hope he stays

  12. I think it’ll take a pretty spectacular offer.

He’s been a head coach before so he understands the pressure & uncertainty.

He has more money than God after his father passed, he recently bought and likely renovated the heck out of a home in a great neighborhood, he isn’t under constant scrutiny as an OC, and he can probably stay here as long as he wants with Tomlin around (who likely isn’t going anywhere for a few years).

Unless there is some sort of odd dynamic with Tomlin (which I doubt), or he really hates cold weather, there really isn’t a better quality of life alternative outside of the city.

  13. I know what the general consensus of this sub is, but I really feel like nobody gives enough credit to continuity of an OC with their QB. We haven’t had 2 full seasons of a QB/OC combo since Ben and Todd Haley* (the 3 years of Fichtner saw Ben shred his elbow smack in the middle of it).

If Rodgers is our 2026/27 option, I’m all for bringing Smith back for the sake of letting the old man truly dial in to that playbook.

  14. He’s been mostly good as OC and has done so with garbage at WR relative to what talent an NFL team should have there.

After dealing with Canada I am concerned what it looks like for us if he is hired there.

  15. I don’t want him to leave. He’s been a solid OC for the personnel we have. There are boneheaded calls here and there, but I’ve liked most of what I’ve seen from him

  16. Not sure why anyone is surprised, he has a lot of potential as a head coach.

He has improved our offense compared to our previous OCs, and he did it with limited weapons.

He also has former head coaching experience, and I am sure he has learned a lot about running a successful team working under a tenured coach like Tomlin. And he has likely learned a lot more about running an offense from working with Rodgers.

Add in that he is familiar with working for the Titans and it makes perfect sense why they would consider him.

  17. Arthur Smith’s offensive style is unique but his efficiency numbers are pretty insane for what he was working with. Not sure he’d find success with the Titans though.

  18. Not surprising. I recall people here scoffing a few weeks ago when I said he would get HC interest after the season.

  19. Really hoping we could get mike mcdaniels as OC if he’s willing to drop down to coordinator

  20. Can’t believe that people here think Stefanski is going to be an OC when he’s getting multiple HC interviews.

  21. Please please please crush it. STAR format, close the interviewers, send follow-ups, what else am I missing?
