We’re okay JJ, second half Zacch is here
I woke up and I just feel idk sad. Trae was my favorite player to watch and I had 100% believe in him to win us a game no matter what
Hawks better be everything the Trae detractors said they would be.
I remember I was conflicted
i feel weird
memorial? did he die? lol
i think the hawks should’ve gotten more for him, but maybe his market is just that bad. idk. i like trae, and i hope he balls out on the wizards. when he smoked the cavs in the play-in and got his team to the ecf i knew he was legit.
luka was asked about trae and said “if he’s excited for this journey, im excited for him”
This is not a bad trade and Trae young is my favorite player. His play offensively isnt bad but hasnt been the same since he took us to the ECF, and Cj Mccolum is not as bad as hawks fans make him seem. Hes up there in age but still averages 18.8 a game this szn, and put up 46 points on us this season and 42 on the pistons at 45% fg for the szn. More than good for a role player, and he’s literally averaging stats similar to NAW this year.

I’m still in shock. Everything happened so quickly.
CJ Mccollum better be that 46 pt 42 pt mf we saw against us and the pistons
I don’t like the trade but I am a long time suffering Hawks fan (since the 80’s), so I hope that we continue to improve. I hope the new guys ball out and this leads to something bigger (not AD I hope). I think this team has some pieces. Curious how they play down the stretch.
ngl I bought some discounted Trae gear on the nba store
Trae loved ATL and the city loved him back. Wish him nothing but the best in DC
I understand why we traded Trae, but its sad to see our best player since probably DW go. I just glad it didn’t turn ugly like Horford, and Trae went out on good terms. That playoff run was so magical. Nothing better than yelling ice trae ice trae.
I just don’t get why we didn’t play Trae for at least 2 weeks with Porzingis and Jalen so we could’ve seen if it can work.
We moved him for cap space, but if we trade porzingis and Luke for AD, we’d have had extra cap space anyways without trading Trae.
And it’s not like the UFA class this year is that good anyways
been watching the hawks since iso and j smoove were on the team. I know im not the oldest fan, but ive been a fan for a while. Trae Young is my favorite basketball player, I hope he kills it on the wizards. They will be my second team
Had he played one last season he would have finished 4th on our all time scoring list always hoped he would have ended at 1 . I have to be objective though Hawks literally always trade their best players after a while only J Smoove is in the top 10 in games played for us
Fawk.
All eyes on the front office now to do something with that “flexibility” they’re so fond of
Trae giving good looks to Alex Sarr might end up worsening the narrative that we fucked up with the Risacher pick
Had a night to sleep on it, not as disgusted with the trade anymore, just pessimistic on the season remaining.
Genuinely more interested in the NOLA pick and seeing if they tear it down than the Hawks for the rest of the year. The team has already shown that its bound for the play-ins at best again, and McCollumn/Kispert arent moving that needle
As far as the Hawks go, I’m not sure if I feel this was the right direction to go or not. Depending on what else we do and how we handle the offseason, it could be a good move or a bad one. Only time will tell. I’m leaning towards feeling optimistic though.
As far as Trae goes though, low key excited because for Xmas we were gifted tickets to see the Raptors x Wizards in February. The only other game I’ve been to was Nuggets x Hawks in April ‘24 and Trae was injured and didn’t travel with the team that trip. So hopefully will get to see him and watch him play this time.
He came in as a 19 year old and immediately became the face of the franchise and representative of the city and served that role for almost 8 years. He was a great steward of the city and gave us so many memorable moments from the game winners and crazy passes to the ECF run. It will probably be a long while until we see a guard as good as Trae on the Hawks again.
Thanks for everything Trae,
ICE TRAE 🧊forever
