It makes sense as we have redundancy. I wish Owen the best but his career arc said lots of homers and Ks and not enough average. And who knows if he would hit enough homers to be like Schwarber.

well i think we lose Shota Steele Taillon after this year so this trade makes sense for the future. Though now we have like 7-8 starting pitchers going into next season. I’d like to see us move one of the expiring starters for something

I don’t hate it if Caissie is the primary piece. Cubs are obnoxiously deep at OF, even without Tucker. This coaching staff typically gets more than expected out of pitchers, and Cabrera has a very high ceiling.
That being said, would prefer they actually spent a little money on top tier free agents.

I’m not giving Tucker $400 million. Especially after he pulled up lame. I was surprised they moved Caissie. I thought he was their future star! All things being equal, I would have kept Bellinger. I hope I’m wrong but I don’t think Ricketts gives a shit anymore. He’ll hope to have a competitive team and get 3 million people in the seats every year. Hey I’ll be 68 this year. I don’t think I’ll see another Cubs World Series title in my lifetime!
