Trading away young controlled, cheap, talented arms for free agent to be veterans is not the answer right now. The Yankees have a lot of work to do and they haven’t even started. At this point they’re not better than the blue jays and definitely not better than the dodgers. This team needs multiple improvements, at this point just bring up Elmer. They’ve past or lost out on pretty much all the impact talent on the board. Unless they’re gonna string multiple trades for an Ace, Closer, 3B, 1B, CF then just bring up show ready prospects and live with the results. Their inaction put them in this position.

Why push so hard to trade ER for a pure rental? Like maybe if Peralta signs an extension I could see the Yankees considering moving ER. If he doesn’t sign an extension then this trade would be a very short sighted decision.

I wouldn’t trade either Willy War or ERC, ERC has massive upside and WW has shown flashes of brilliance already. Plus Warren is a proven major league caliber starter who can eat innings throughout the season. I’d be open to trading Gil, since with his command basically abandoning him last season, I don’t view him as a reliable long term option.
Red Sox fans say Bello is better than Gil, and they think they could have gotten a better package for Peralta.
We have 2 starters coming back soon id say you look for relieve help and you start fried, cam, gil ,Warren, yarby. I see peralta as a 3 or 4 starter. Im shopping for a number 1 or number 2 type.
