And for comparison… the Jets were the only team in NFL history to finish a season with 0 interceptions.
We’re due!
What the hell happened to our secundary in just one season spa
I thought this was supposed to be the most elite defense ever
Packers and Bears are gonna regress to the mean on saturday, book it
That Hafley is a real dud. He also kicks puppies.
Yeaaa two of our seven interceptions had no chance of turning into points. One was at the end of the half the other was the end of the first Bears game.
I remember the days of training camp where the big defensive emphasis was punching the ball. What a joke.
16 lol
Manifesting Caleb having a 3 interception game. Something has to give for us.
Time to feast
I don’t get how we’re so bad at generating turnovers when last year we were so good? Xavier McKinney by himself has dropped so many balls.
Pretty hard to get turnovers when your defense can’t catch a ball to save their lives. It’s shocking how many balls seem to hit them in the hands and fall to the ground.
Can’t score much off of turnovers if you don’t get many 🙁 but GPG
We went from 6th in the league in takeaways last year to 26th this year. Can’t have points off turnovers without turnovers.
Hafley plays bend don’t break defense. Creates no pressure and no turnovers.
I don’t know why he is so beloved. The defense is absolute shit without Parsons.
We would have needed an additional 40 points scored off of turnovers to finish 16th in the league in that category. 16th is average. Those additional 40 points are the difference between the 7-seed and a top 2 seed.
Hard to score off turnovers when you force so little. 7 interceptions the whole year, X and Evan account for 5 of them. 7 fumble recoveries.
Wait the Jags are stealthy good?
So the teams leading in this PoT statistic are smokin’ it. Or one might say, smokin’ PoT.
Can’t forget that our defense has like 10+ dropped interceptions as well. That figure may be different is our DBs didn’t beat it with Vaseline before taking the field.
One must first get turnovers to then score points off said turnovers.
We were also tied with the 4th fewest takeaways to be fair
96… **96** to our 16. That’s 4 games worth of points from our offense. That is absurd.
This is nfl football! There’s no way to manufacture turnovers. They are the ultimate chaos stat in sports. They’re what make the game so compelling. They matter more than almost everything (maybe second to execution but it’s close) and yet they come to who they come to and that typically writes the script for the game.
The reason we love Haf is because he brought turnover magic in the form of Xavier McKinney getting a pick every game last year. Once the turnovers dried up the packers have been far less effective and much more “bend but don’t break” since. Even while adding Parsons.
If the packers win turnovers 2-0 Saturday,. It’s had to imagine them losing the game. If they turn it over twice I can’t imagine a scenario where they win.
This. Is. Ball.
Yikes
oof.
Packers are only +1 in turnover differential this year. That’s with only 13 offensive turnovers, which ranks third in the NFL. Chicago ranks first, but only has two fewer offensive turnovers than Green Bay. They have a turnover differential of +22.
I cant say how many times I yelled about our defense having stone hands on obvious interceptions this season, but its been a lot!
