  1. He’s gonna win it you guys need to stop stressing it 😎 that narrative for Stafford is so forced Maye’s EPA is off the charts

  2. The voters fucked themselves by making Josh Allen MVP last year and using the logic that he led the league in a ton of analytics and did more with less. That was despite the fact that Josh Allen played the 5th easiest schedule while Lamar had more passing yards and TDs and played the 8th hardest schedule.

This year, a lot of the arguments against Maye are how easy his schedule was while ignoring how Maye is leading in virtually all analytics and doing more with less. Suddenly what matters is how Stafford has more passing yards and TDs while playing a harder schedule. They’re also conveniently leaving out how Stafford did NOT win his division.

  3. I think it’s gonna be closer, the old heads probably are nto gonna consider strength of schedule(it’s never been part of the narrative before) but I think their just as likely to consider the lifetime achievement part for Stafford.

I think between having the edge in literally every advanced metric(which the media loves) and the weaker supporting cast on his side will give him the edge

but I can forsee a situation where he gets the most top1 votes but because Stafford is everyone’s 2 or 1 and some people rank Maye low out of spite/schedule BS he loses. (they submit 5 names and players get points based on the rank)

  4. Unfortunately, they aren’t falling for the schedule or lifetime achievement award arguments like some voters might. We can hope, but I’m definitely not getting my hopes up and expecting the voters to be rational

  5. He was the best QB this season. Stafford just had two all pros at wide receiver and a pass happy offense.

  6. There have only ever been three MVPs that did not win their division. They are not giving it to a quarterback who finished in the bottom half of his behind Sam Darnold and Brock Purdy/Mac Jones.

  7. I really didn’t care the MVP conversation but the takes about how the award should go to Stafford and Maye will have plenty of chances to win MVP in the future from sports commentators really have started to get annoying. Anyone that is influenced by that shouldn’t be allowed to vote on the award.

  8. I think people are really underestimating the lifetime achievement award aspect. Logically it doesn’t make sense but it’s not a logical argument it’s an emotional one. Nobody wants to be the guy 10 or 15 years from now that was the reason Stafford never got an mvp. All of.the logical arguments are not sound and I don’t think most people are really arguing them in good faith anyway. I’m fully 100% in the drake maye is the unquestionable mvp and if I had a vote I wouldn’t care about emotions because I would have more honor for the award then for the players competing for it boat, but I’m just not convinced that that’s how all the voters feel. I love Stafford. He has been truly one of.the best qbs in the nfl for most of the years he’s played and he’s still never really gotten the full credit for it. At any point in his career there’s been maybe 1-2 better pure throwers of the football max, he may not be the elitist of elite chess players like Tom and Peyton, but I put him right underneath those guys with all the other greats, and he’s had 3 wide recievers completely break football in his career which apart from cj you could argue wouldn’t have happened without him. If there ever was a person that would win for a lifetime achievement reason it’s Stafford. I think all of the arguing is just postering. Rogers winning it twice just felt like boosting his hall of fame status as well. Not in a he wasn’t getting in way, but that if you match his accolades up with others around him he matches up with other guys around where he should be at. I think that’s a big part of how mvp is decided and I’ve accepted that this is one of those years. I still think drake has a shot don’t get me wrong. Highest ypa, highest cpoe, highest epa per pass, highest passer rating, most total yards , no probowl teammates on offense, shaky offensive line, patchwork wr room, and he’s 23 years old doing it. It’s fucking nuts. I’ve just come to accept drake was always number 2 in their eyes it doesn’t matter what he does whatever stat or aspect that Stafford has over him will become the most important one even over all the rest combined.

  9. CBS also chose white power over journalism so who really gives a fuck about their opinion on anything?

  10. Not gonna lie wasnt really into this whole mvp race up until the Jets game and Stafford shit the bed again.

The last non first seed MVP winners? Manning and Peterson who finished 5th and 6th.

Stafford has had a great year. Maye has had a better one and is more vital to his teams success. Thats not a slight to Stafford its just the truth.

I also dont mind if a voter votes for Stafford. He should have first place votes. He isnt the MVP of this season though. I would probably give a nod to Stafford winning offensive player of the year.
