Assuming he sits out the rest of the year, it’ll get even worse when he plays next season. If the wizards look halfway decent, people will suddenly realize all the shit we’ve been saying about how poorly constructed and chronically injured the team around has been for the past few years.
Everybody wants to get in on a “Haha stupid team made stupid trade again” narrative. Propping up Trae feeds into that.
I just assume none of these people have watched a Hawks game since 2021. Some guy in the youtube comments called Trae one of the most naturally gifted athletes in the NBA – had to put my phone down.

i mean we all knew that was coming, right? had trae been drafted to literally any other team, he would have been lauded as a dynamic passer, floor general, etc. because he wound up in atlanta, he was disrespected and shat on for the most part.
now that he’s going elsewhere, suddenly he’s this awesome player with great vision and scoring abilities who can create for his teammates. i’m glad he’s getting his flowers but come the fuck on.
