Ime Udoka: “You took a 37 year old out of the game for 2 minutes and you lose a 13 point lead. 11-0 run. Don’t play with any aggression, confidence. Mentally weak. The fact that we have to rely on a 37 year old for 40+ minutes is a problem.”

  1. So as our coach what’s he gonna do about it besides complaining in post game press conference? Or it’s just all up to the players?

  2. Dude quit making excuses and scapegoating players. I don’t care how the players play when the coach constantly refuses to take any accountability himself. Blame players when it’s really needed, but damn dude does it every time.

  3. Bruh. You 🫵🏽 let Bari stay in the game, you prob coulda put in ANYONE else and we maybe win, you saw he was struggling mightily and didn’t even get into his normal form when shooting, YOU ARE THE COACH.

  4. I don’t mind him throwing players under the bus here but he’s gotta take accountability too

  5. That happens when you don’t have an offensive organization. You entire offense is KD shooting impossible shots against 2-3 defenders, Alpi doing some playmaking magic without anyone helping, Amen flying from out of nowhere sometimes and Adams beating fitty men under the hoop to rebound a bad shot. No easy and quality shots most of the time.

  6. I don’t know, Ime, you’re the coach responsible for offense. So you have to do things to improve the team’s offense—get coaches and trainers to help these guys make buckets consistently, draw up Q4 crunch time plays that aren’t abject failures, and have a functioning offense that isn’t just freestilylin’ iso ball one-on-one Turnover City. Maybe stop leaving struggling players or foul machines in for far too long and benching players once they give us momentum. Maybe stop churning out questionable rotations.

Or, hey, maybe implement some perimeter defense, too.

Whining about our players to the press accomplishes nothing.

  7. Does he know he’s the one in charge of COACHING?

If the team cannot do shit offensively perhaps he’s at fault too?

  8. We simply don’t have a 3rd option star, and it gets exposed when 1 of Alpi\KD are not playing.

Reed Sheppard is too young, Amen can’t shoot or have enough offensive arsenal, jabari smith is a role player, Eason never plays.

  9. man if only we had a coach that would use his challenges wisely instead of chucking them!

  10. Are you guys going to pretend not having their all star offensive hub is not a factor here?

  11. Our offence this year mostly consist of “just drive and react”. Its not sustainable whenj you cant hit 3s. Because you cant chose who take the shot that way. I know Alpi kind of slow when he has the ball, but at least he try to organize the team when he try to run the offence. KD is the same too, but some of the players just dosent act on their own. They constantly need someone to tell what to do.

  12. Maybe take some responsibility for your role in this situation, coach. This is getting into Glenn Rivers territory. You can’t just blame the players, they’ll tune you out.

  13. Ya remember during the playoffs there was a game or 2 where we randomly used a motion offense? They couldn’t keep up. I then remembered the very next game we went back to iso and crash the boards.

  14. saying allat when the man doesnt know how to adjust and play the worst player tonight 41+ minutes a game‼️ We are terribly constructed this season but our need for an actual offensive coordinator is mind boggling.

  15. This awful probably racist coach bench Sengun in his first mistake but Jabari can take a shit on the floor and finish the game

  16. Counterpoint: When the only play the team runs is ‘give it to the 37-year-old’, you shouldn’t expect anything when that 37-year-old is on the bench.

  17. You have a roster of bigs that can’t finish around the rim, wings who can’t make a double team pay, and a coach who just throws shit on the floor and hopes it works. A coach who just makes random subs off of emotions.

  18. YOU are the coach. It is your responsibility to make the right moves and proper adjustments when things don’t go well in the game.

You can’t just throw lineups on the court by the rule-book, cross your fingers and blame players when things don’t go your way. NPCs can also do that.

  19. This summer, while talking with my brother about the upcoming season and how excited and optimistic I was, one concern kept coming to my mind: how would Ime coach this team? How would he react during games? He would need to make full use of the roster, because Houston has talented players, but they are not perfectly compatible with one another.

Unfortunately, my fear turned out to be justified.
