LaMelo Ball: “I didn’t start today so I could finish the back end.” I take full responsibility, that was my fault. That last lob, could’ve dribbled that out and some silly possession before that. The last pass, I should’ve shot that instead of putting Bull in that position.”

  1. LaMelo plays the same way when the game is on the line, when we’re up big, down big, or with a minute left and we’re up 2 with the ball. Those differences make no difference to Melo. He is going to play the exact same way.

  2. Proud of Melo for owning it. Now he’s just gotta learn from it, and I’m confident he will. He doesn’t really wear his emotions, but you can see he knows he goofed and is disappointed that he cost them the game.

  3. His pass to Sexton was fine. Sexton choosing to shoot it instead of passing to a wide open Kon for 3 was not.

  4. Great to see accountability, awareness, and maturity coming from him. Hope he continues to develop the soft skills that make him a better leader to match his level of talent, as well as his decision making in late game moments.

  5. I know the minute restriction is frustrating for alot of people, but i really do think ending the season not hurt and playing games with the core is more important than extra minutes and risking his health. Get him to the end of the year healthy, with a fully healthy offseason of no surgery/cleanups then next year let him free of the restriction. I think people forget we started the year with no restriction, he was playing 35+ then got sore/hurt and missed 2 weeks. He came back with a restriction that was getting gradually lifted, he played 37 minutes again then got hurt again missed another 2 weeks. It’s really easy to see why this current strict restriction is in effect.

I really like what i’m seeing and hearing from LaMelo this year and i think it’s only going to lead to bright things in the future. As fans i know it can be frustrating we have been waiting and waiting for a good team for a long time but I think the front office reallly knows whats its doing to keep Melo healthy here and i think it’ll benefit him and the team in the long run.

  6. The lob was a horrible decision, he should’ve either dribbled it out or gone for the layup which looked pretty open. Such a frustrating way to finish what was a tremendous night for Lamelo.

So many things went wrong between this, Brandon’s ejection, and the messed up inbounds at the end. Sucks to lose all the momentum from the OKC win, but unfortunately these kind of things will keep happening until we get more experience.

Love that he’s taking responsibility though, he’s got a long way to go but we’re seeing a lot of signs that he’s maturing.

  7. Learn from it brother, we love you man. When Melo didn’t start last night I got a cold water splash to the face of not having him here. Seeing reckless Sexton staring at PG had me straight up shook.

It did however bother me that he didn’t start, because I feel Kon has been much better when he’s on the floor with Melo. That didn’t happen until the fourth quarter and by then we had lost Kon’s normal production to that point. He had a good game, but I didn’t like seeing that duo broken up.

  8. Reading the original thread and some people are just miserable. For all the talk you see about LaMelo not being serious, it’s funny how once we post a clip of him actually being serious, all the comments are like ā€œuh well he has really stupid tattoos.ā€ Some people are just allergic to being nice to Lamelo

  9. Hes always been this way but he doesnt talk much to the media so people are just seeing it.

Melo’s always wanted to win and its been clear for quite some time now but his health and our injuries/lack of talent havent helped anything so far.

  10. Can y’all please trade him, he would be an absolute dog on any other roster. Imagine him on the raptors or the warriors 😭😭😭

  11. The pass to sexton was the correct play honestly was a decent look. But everything else he said is goodĀ

  12. Everyone’s got criticism for him but I applaud Lamelo’s growth over the years, he’s on a good trajectory and I love what we have with him Konny Mack and Bmillington
