4. This is not a must win. Patriots fans should be thrilled to have the season they had because next season will be a let down BUT here's an important point:
   If you can pin 2024 being the fault of Mayo as a terrible coach he's what happens:
   Patriots won 4 games in 2023
   Patriots won 4 games in 2024 BUT, if you consider Mayo the reason for it, you could argue they should have won 8-9 games.
   This season you won 14 games, probably 2 games more than you should have, but thanks to the weaker schedule because of 4 wins in 2024.
   SO if you consider the Patriots won 4 games in 2023, should have won 8-9 games in 2024, and probably won 2 more games than they should have in 2025, taking out 2024 and Mayo shows a team in a period of growth with 2024 being the outlier and puts them on pace for a double digit win season next year. It's not as bad as it has looked over the the past 3 years if you take Mayo out. you could even argue they are on a path…but not a path to a Super Bowl BECAUSE the 2001 team was INFINATELY better than this team in all areas except, ironically enough, quarterback, and that team would wipe the floor with this one.

6. I love when they dismiss the Patriots because they were 2-2 against playoff teams without adding nuance. They had five basically unforced turnovers against the Steelers and still only lost by one score, and they were blowing out the bills, but couldn't stop the run in the second half. However, they didn't have their best defensive lineman, Milton Williams, Tonga was also injured, and they didn't have their best linebacker, Robert Spillane! They should've beat them both! And the only other loss they had all year was to the Raiders in the first game when they weren't clicking on all cylinders, and still only lost by one score. They could easily be 17-0!

7. Chargers fan here. It won’t be seen as a failure if the Pats lose. They’ve turned this team around.

10. The bottom line is the Patriots don’t have a pass rush and if the Chargers bring their “A” game on both sides of the ball, Pats are done.

11. The Pats went 6-2 against the top 20 defenses in the league by points allowed, and their two losses were one score games that they could have easily won. PS. The Chargers are ranked 9th.

25. It should be noted that Holley, who is usually great, was monumentally wrong about the Pats this year. I think he had them at 5 or 6 wins preseason.

32. Sure I'm a Pats fan, but I have to say: Michael Holley is just fantastic. I've been lucky to have his input on my team for so many years, and I'm very happy that he's getting more national recognition these days. Florio is great too

35. They came close to running the table I mean my god lost by 7 first game with new staff and 5 turnovers and lost by 7 late against Pittsburgh and blew a 21 point lead against bills lost by 4 I would say they have been pretty Fing good!

37. Come on Holly. Hit him with some facts and stats. The Patrtiots and Bills played 14 games against the same schedule and each other. In these games the Patrtiots went 12-2 and bills 11-3 so even if you take out our last place schedule and their first place schedule we win the division. In those games the Patrtiots were a plus 141 and the bills a plus 109. Across the board in those games Drake Mayes numbers are better than Allen’s. Let’s compare the MVP candidates. The Patriots and Rams played 6 games against common opponents. In those games the Pats were 6-0 and Rams 4-2. Let’s take a look at the Broncos compared to the Patriots. Denver’s strength of schedule was .422 that’s 7.174 average wins for 17 game season. Patrtiots were .391 6.647 wins. Almost identical. Denver strength of victory .378 or 6.647 wins and Pats were .370 or 6.29. Again, almost identical. Yet, the Patrtiots were a plus 170 while Denver was nearly half at plus 90. Why isn’t anyone saying the same thing about Denver as New England? So we blow out the teams that are bad and you look down on us for that? We have better numbers in common games compared to the great Josh Allen and Matthew Stafford and yet we are the weak team?

    I can still down even more and the results continue to be the same.

    The Patrtiots are one of the 2 or 3 best teams in the entire NFL and it’s obvious. They are probably the most balanced team in all three phases.

    I wish these so called reporters would do a better job with their data and conveying messages to the public. They seem to be lazy and yet keep getting paid? Why? Pay me to bring the heat and I’ll chew apart most of these guys.
