I recently received a bunch of down-votes for stating this about the recent whistling and was told I was an idiot. So there you go nay sayers. Straight from the captains mouth.

For those of us not aware, what is the whistling he’s talking about?
People were getting flamed in that thread for saying they don’t like it.
So annoying.
Inevitability the first one has me looking for a zebra with their hand up.
Then we have to listen to the response whistles.
It is dumb and it sounds dumb and it makes our fanbase look dumb. Please stop. It’s annoying af.
Why would anyone whistle at a hockey game? How dumb
Who thought this was a good idea?
Gotta do something to improve the culture inside of the arena. Fans are loud and I love you guys, but stuff like this is silly. We can’t get a chant going to save our lives either. It always ends up disjointed. When they try to lead us with the Jumbotron, people clap when they’re supposed to chant and chant when they should clap/let the beat go.
Thank you, Captain. I hope this post reaches the right eyes and ears…
Hard-hitting journalism right there.
I hate it. I have no idea why it became a thing, but it’s embarrassing and stupid. I get that many Utah fans are new to hockey and maybe easily duped, but IT’S NOT A THING you guys.
It’s really so funny that people are like *grumble, grumble* “This isn’t very fan inclusive of our captain to say, we could use it to our advantage” *grumble, grumble*
That’s like saying the crowd should be allowed to point lasers in the eyes of all the players during games. And that if the Mammoth players practiced really hard with lasers pointed in their eyes during practice sessions, they’d actually have an advantage when playing at home because they’d already be used to the laser pointers.
If you hate it, join me is starting a LOUD “Let’s go Utah” chant if it starts at the upcoming games!!!
They need to announce it over the PA at the start of the game
I was watching the Ottawa broadcast and it annoyed the fuck out of me. I couldn’t imagine being at the game or worse yet on the damn ice.
I’m at most games, and I swear guy who starts it is in the corner, section 13/14ish, but maybe that’s just the way the arena echos and makes me think it’s coming from there.
This just seemed to come out of nowhere. I’ve been to most home games this season and Ottawa was the first time I’ve heard it.
Cheer when something good happens but hockey is not a circus like a Jazz game.
