Hank is just excellent at anything he does. From what I understand he’s well liked in the hockey world. Familiar with the org, Dolan and well it’s Hank

  1. As long as Dolan resides at the top of the heap, it matters not who the GM is.

  2. shoulda promoted Mike Grier as GM when he was still with the Rangers. Timeline would’ve been different

  3. I would not wish that on him or Mess. I feel for Sullivan who has to deal with this trash roster Drury built. They will ruin the upcoming draft.

  4. I’m usually not sentimental when it comes to fandom and all that but I don’t want to be in a position in 3-7 years where we’re calling Hank a fucking idiot that needs to get fired. Drury had no rep or legacy here to tarnish. Hank is and was beloved. Let’s keep it that way.

  5. I hope this is satire because otherwise it’s a ridiculous idea. If someone is a superb office worker does that qualify them to become a lead architect for office buildings?

    Edited for grammar.

  6. Why would he do that? Right now he has a pretty cushy job, makes a nice paycheck, doesn’t really need the money, and can just enjoy hockey. As a GM, of any team but especially the Rangers right now, life would suck.

  7. NO. HARD NO.

I DO NOT want to be in a position where I might have to hate him and want him fired. Let Hank be Hank.

  8. Valli imo is the best candidate for non retreads. The guy knows modern hockey so well and can diagnose issues and suggest fixes that actually work.

  9. Jeff Groton was wonderful. Look at the Canadiens. Groton fixed this team after Sather. Dolan screwed it all up by overreacting to Tom Wilson’s antics.

  10. No. We as fans will turn sour on him like everyone else. We have so many non working parts and I don’t want to taint my adoration for him just because most are disappointed in the team, GM, and owner.

  11. Terrible idea, he doesn’t deserve to be let down by a this organization again.

And if he becomes GM we’re gonna have people saying what a shit job he’s doing and calling to fire him, and he doesn’t deserve that either.

  12. The last thing we need is to have a franchise icon’s legacy become tarnished.

I also seriously doubt that Hank would want that kind of stress at this point in his life. He has comfy broadcasting gigs, got elected into the Hall of Fame less than three years ago, and also has two very young kids.

    Let the man live.

  13. Why would Henrik want this? He made a boatload in his playing career and now has a cushy job in broadcasting that (according to his IG) allows him to take incredible vacations year round. I’d rather Steve Valiquette!

  14. Being a successful GM requires a range of skill sets, none of which include being an exceptional goalie.

  15. I’ll sign. It doesn’t even have to be Hank. It can be Brian Daboll…or a traffic cone…or Doug the ostrich. Literally ANYTHING or ANYONE not named Chris Drury or someone that looks like him.
