  1. I am not on many social media platforms, really only one, Facebook; but I’m in Ottawa and follow two or three related to the Sens. Due to the algorithms I do get pushed many other hockey related pages. But even with that limited footprint, before the Sens statement, I was pushed copies of that tweet, no less than 9 times. It was spreading like a fire even before the Sens put out the statement.
Given the past Hoffman-Karlsson situation, if they had remained silent it would have been much worse. The Sens HAD to put out something.
My concern is the wording of the statement. They do not specifically call out the specific tweet in order to deny it, they refer to fabrications in general. If you’re going to bring attention to an issue, at least address it directly. Instead when they grabbed for the bucket of water to throw on the fire, they fumbled and grabbed the bucket of gasoline.

  2. If the sens are serious about quieting the rumors, be transparent, as our season is on the line because of it. Every loss, without a clear justification for ullmark's absence is what is creating these rumors. Transparency would be the end of it. The sens owe it to their fans who are watching their team's season be derailed without any justification as to why. You are expecting fans to swallow every loss and ask for sympathy for Linus, without telling us whats going on. How do you expect anyone to empathize with you without transparency? As sometone who stuggles with mental health, transparency is critical to everyone that loves you – fans, teammates, family everyone. Just a bit of advice to Ully, I hope he hears this. The fans are here to support you through thick or thin, all we need is transparency as to whats going on. Sens fans have a big heart. Look at when Craig Anderson had to step away to support his wife that had cancer? The sens were transparent and every single fan was there for Craig. We want to be there for Linus, but he needs to be transparent about what is going on.

  3. The way they are reacting to this makes me think it's legit. The canucks did the same thing with the JT Miller/EP situation. And look what happened.

  4. I saw the original tweet, proceeded to forget about it and then had it engrained again when the Senators made the statement. They made it so people who didn’t care initially had to care about it

  5. Heck, even the President of the United States is a total troll on any and all of these platforms, but I don't think he has taken to writing about the Ottawa Senators yet…….but give him time.

  6. Membeh when Prongs had to flee Edmonton? Same type stuff going on all around the league, all the time. The problem here is the 'code' was broken and light was shed on the dark side of wealth, fame and opportunity for multi millionaire dudes with speed bags for brains. People with actual brains fall into the same degenerate behaviour so its kinda a societal human condition thing where nothing is sacred anymore, specially traditional marriage or being faithful to your partner. Sad…
All Staios had to do here was blame it on an AI hack lol

  7. So in answer to the "they only sign up for wins and losses…..you basically cannot go a for more than two weeks without hearing about a NFL player beating his partner or doing something stupid….so the fact that you hardly hear of this from the NHL should be celebrated. All pro sports atheletes will always face some sort of intrusion and interest into their personal life. If you don't like it….then the only answer is to retire and work a standard 9-5 as no-one out side of their families cares if your plumber is banging their local barmaid.

  8. Guys if you’re going to talk about something for this long, just tell the listener what you’re talking about. Otherwise these things are just super frustrating to listen to because all I can think about is “what was the rumour”. If you don’t want to say it, don’t cover it, because what the rumour is IS important to the story.

  9. Where you guys got this wrong was that it was only on Twitter. Maybe that's where you first saw it but it was kicking around other places for about a week before.

You aren't suspicious enough of the timing here either. That this came out during the game reads as "this got brought up in the lockerroom during the game and some players were pissed."

Perron's comments today pretty much confirmed that.
