Vince is getting pointed in his skepticism of the roster and Miller. Worth popping into Reader for the six thoughts at the end.

  1. This team had such promise. Solid core, young highly touted draft picks, stud goalie. It all fell apart so quickly

  2. > It’s almost got to be a complete reset, said Trocheck

Even when suggesting a *complete* reset, it’s an “almost.”

Everything this team does is “almost.” That should be on the practice shirts.

  3. Vince, bringing out the dagger on Drury.

“We’ve seen enough evidence in the last year and a half to know that the team he’s assembled doesn’t have it.”

  4. They need a complete gut job. They need to get younger and faster. The problem is that Dolan and Drury love each other and continue driving into oncoming traffic. There’s no stopping the owner.

  5. Sell what .. trouba kakko kreider chytil Lindgren miller vesey traded last year and not one single piece that improved this team .. the team is trash from top to bottem .. nothing can be done until drury is fire guy took a team with prospects and picks needing some tweaking and took that team and made it look like the ducks before gardon bombay came along .  There is no picks little prospects no cap space and no vision . Drury is the issue

  6. No one will like this but trade Igor .. by the time this team is rebuilt to contend he will be on decline . Might as well load up on picks

  7. maybe try trading someone for Boeser. Boeser and JT miller doing nothing without each other, but they played really well together. Who would ranger offer for Boeser. I think they could regain their chemistry again

  8. my buddy said in the first “they’re going to score 10 on the Rangers today” and it was 2-1 BOS at the time but I’ll be damned if he didn’t call it.

  9. >They aren’t one or two pieces away, at least not [the kind of pieces that will be available](https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6949917/2026/01/08/nhl-trade-board-panarin-sherwood-thomas/) before the March 6 trade deadline. They need to completely refresh this roster with speed, skill, and most importantly, youth, and that will require short-term pain for the sake of long-term gain. They only have their own shaky track record of drafting, development and poor asset management to blame.

    I fucking love you u/vincezmercogliano!

  10. That first goal from Mika made the game seem promising but every time they tried to possess the puck, Boston was already there. They seem tired and hardly put up any defense.

  11. I think this sub could crowdsource their way to a better Rangers team than this mess of a front office.

  12. The “fans” are badmouthing the team worse than the haters. Only in New York.

  13. If Chris Drury didn’t win a little league World Series would he ever have a winner reputation

  14. Too bad we have nothing to sell sell sell.

We have a Panarain rental…..THAT IS IT. We’re not trading Trocheck. He’s part of the new generation of culture change.

Fox by all rights should demand a trade given his coach and GM don’t even believe in him. All we have are scraps. Carrick? Brodz? Raddysh? Yipee.. 5th and 6th round picks.

    Schneider might get a 2nd?

What else are we even trading?

This General Manager in 2 years has taken a Cup contending team and has no one to trade via lack of skill or contracts no team will take, and we no longer have enough assets to even try and get quality players.

I warned people after 2023-24 we likely lost our window until 2030 because the roster construction was already in bad shape, with no farm system. And that was BEFORE Drury took a buzz saw to the franchise last year.

We are in hell. 2030 would be the absolutely best case

  15. As long as Drury is in charge, selling is pointless. He’ ll just fuck up acquiring replacement players and we’ll be in the same place again.
