  1. Watching both the Bears and Lions this year, it became painfully obvious the the frustrating head scratching things that the Lions did over the last few years, like completely abandoned things that worked all game for no reason, is a Dan Campbell thing, not a Ben Johnson thing.

We kept the fun crazy uncle coach that gets everyone motivated. But lost the stoic responsible Dad, that actually takes care of all the behind the scenes things that makes it all possible.

  2. Lions finished fifth in offense. I wouldn’t say it was pathetic. At the end of the season it was struggling, but I blame that on Dan’s play calling. But even so, the team could score quickly because there is too much talent. What we needed was better play calling to keep up a rhythm, and be consistent.

  3. On defense, I think Sheppard is going to be better than Aaron Glenn. This was Shep’s first year as DC. Both he and Glenn were cursed with injuries by the halfway mark of last season. Glenn with the Dline and Shep with the secondary. The difference was that after those injuries, Glenn became regressing with his defense in the last five games of the season, whereas Shep was on an upward trajectory of getting his defense better.

  4. My buddy said last year we should've thanked Dan Campbell for his services and kept Ben Johnson as the head coach and I thought he was a little nuts when he said that, but I'm beginning to think different now, and not because of where Chicago is right now, just look at just look at the sign that they're sidelined mannerism , and this has been johnson's first year
