So here’s a question. When he comes to the NHL do you pair him with Shaefer?
I personally wouldn’t. Unless they have unbelievable chemistry together. But I wouldn’t put them together because they’re both offensive defenseman. You put them in separately that’s two defensive pairs that gives you offense.

If both he and Ekky manage to fulfill their potential, that Dobbers deal is gonna be an insane steal. Only time will tell for the moment
Loved how people were writing him off after the WJC and then he went and scored twice in the first period of his first game back in the OHL

To further put in perspective how insane Schaefer is, though… Aitcheson is 19.
Everyone said he was a bust because of WJC but I think people are putting too much stock in a tournament that had team Canada playing like absolute shit all around.
This guy is a majorly upgraded version of TDA. When he’s ready to be here it’s going to be great having defensive scoring threats on multiple lines.
If it doesn’t work out learning how to defend as a pro for him I think he could play wing for us.
Honestly, I would be shocked if he continued to do that at the NHL level. He’s got a physical game and he’s not the skater that some of these other offensive defensemen are. I think he’ll be a player like Romanov with a little bit more of a scoring touch. There’s no chance he scores 20 goals in an NHL season. Don’t get me wrong. I’d be very happy with that type of player, but he’s never gonna turn into Schaeffer.
