[Matt Derrick] An Instagram post from an account associated with an ex-girlfriend of Chiefs WR Rashee Rice detailing allegations of domestic violence by an unnamed person, accompanied with photos, has been deleted.

  1. I despise the guilty until proven innocent mindset on the internet from allegations let’s see both sides of the story and what actually happened.

  2. Seems the Rice situation is very much wait and see. The girl’s accusations were bad but we have at least two dudes on our team who had false accusations levied against them.

Also the original post claimed a lot but the only evidence was a supposed busted lip that looked like it could’ve been a cold sore.

Idk, I want more info before I BBQ some one

  3. Seriously this is one too many strikes. Dude is a trouble magnet of his own making. His onfield is not worth the off field headache.

    Release his ass.

  4. Could just an easily be someone in her ear telling her rice would be breaking his plea deal if this goes to court or charges are pressed, which would probably mean jail time which means no money. Sadly that’s probably how many of these situations go. Which is why many athletes keep getting into trouble.

  5. Her lawyer most likely told her to take it down. The photos and evidence were a lot.

  6. We don’t know all the details on this, but I don’t think its much of a stretch to wonder if this is a “check cleared” situation.

  7. I’m a wait and see guy in situations like this, but with guys that are already on a second chance situation I’m less inclined to extend that grace. If there’s an investigation and it exonerates him that’s fine, but if it’s just a he-said-she-said I’m over it with Rice. I was very optimistic and I get it’s a lot of freak injury problems, but the juice has not been worth the squeeze.

  8. I’ll continue to wait until there is a proper investigation and we have evidence based facts.

If he did it, release him into the sun.

  9. I’m waiting for any kind of police report or something more than an Instagram post.

  10. Whether Rice is guilty or not, going about accusations through social media seems highly ill advised.

  11. If you looked through all the pictures, she had clearly been beaten and abused. Or they were absolutely incredible fakes. I’m not saying he did it, but somebody beat this woman.

Considering his history, I think it’s reasonable to believe that there’s a decent likelihood her story was true.

Her taking it down either means that she got paid, it was her lawyer’s advice, or she was lying.

I think the first two options are the highest likelihood of being true.

  12. I really really hope Chiefs don’t pay him the bag. If they wanna keep him, do not give him a large guaranteed sum. It should be based on how many games he plays in the next 2-3 seasons, performance etc. There should be a clause to get away from the contract if he has any suspensions for bad shit out of the field.

  13. Even if Rice is not guilty and on the roster next year, he’s guilty of not beating man coverage often enough to stop me from drafting a WR early in April

  14. Anybody who thinks rice is innocent is ignorant as fuck. She’s about to get some hush money and go away.

  15. Two things. 1. Rashee has lost benefit of doubt in everyones eyes 2. This is his last year under contract with us. Is this really a guy we want to give 100 million. Cant stay out of trouble and seems like a horrible person

  16. Like I’ve been saying all along (and was downvoted in previous threads for saying), people should reserve judgment until the investigation plays out.

If it turns out to be a nothing burger and Rice didn’t do what he was accused of, he deserves an apology from everyone that rushed to judgment and automatically presumed he was guilty of the allegations, just like what happened with Xavier Worthy.

If the investigation reveals that he did do anything he was accused of, let the chips fall where they may.

  17. He got with a new famous girl around the same exact time his old one decided to go nuclear. Not saying he’s innocent but it was always smart to wait and see before doing what our fans have a habit of doing which is cursing the player’s name and wishing we cut him immediately.

  18. My spouse, who is associated with me who is a fan of the Chiefs who have a player named Rashee Rice is hoping things work out.

  19. My favorite part is how everyone using this to come out of the woods and say he is also just a trash receiver. Dude was literally the WR1 and top 10 in the league last year before he got hurt and on pace for over 1k yards and 10td and now all the sudden he is our WR2 ☠️

  20. Just a waiting game.

We know people tend to exaggerate or completely fabricate incidents. We know actual victims will sometimes stay quiet for long periods for their own, legitimate reasons. We know there may be some sort of in between, where maybe there were some actions that look bad or were even criminal, but blown way out of proportion (Tyreek Hill is a great example of that one…he may or may not have been a piece of shit, but was done super super dirty by an ex and the local media).

Really no point in obsessing and speculating too much over it until actual reports are out.

  21. My assumption is she was getting a bunch of flak and / or her lawyer (assuming she has one) advised her to take it down.

    Doesn’t really change anything imo

  22. Someone needs to lock him in a room with a playbook for the entire offseason. Trouble loves to find this guy.

  23. So where are all the people who were saying he was guilty a few days ago? Almost like if the allegations were true there would have been an accompanying police report, no?
